WHY ATTACK THE CHINESE COMMUNITY, UMNOPUTRA'S UNTOLD STORY

I felt the caption should have been why the malays should criticize the chinese so strongly during the recently concluded UMNO General Assembly, but I had to take into account the malays who are not UMNO members and those who were not present at the Assembly to know the actual reasons behind this outburst.

The green light for this outburst was given by UMNO President and Prime Minister himself, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi at the Pre-Council Meeting a day earlier. Delegates were told that the chinese community was trying to undermine the malay community by creating demands and the best thing would be to show the 'malay feelings' which will keep them in place. Delegates concentrated on attacking the chinese with fiery speeches which now has turn-out to be seditious in nature.

Speeches like 'will bathe in blood to uphold malay rights' were all endorsed by the UMNO Supreme Council, since speeches and speakers had to received their approval before doing so.

Since the speeches had turn out to be seditious in nature, while it was for the first time live telecasted, the damage done could not be undone. If there were no live telecast, a different version would have been made up. Now the whole rakyat knows and with this latest information, the chinese community would surely retaliate at the coming polls silently. The UMNOputras had failed to realise that the economy is controlled by the chinese and any conflict will badly affect the country. Many chinese have expressed their displeasure but as usual, UMNO will have to sweep this matter under the carpet since it was originated by them and need to support their members.

The Police had decided to investigate the matter since it had violated the Sedition Act, but UMNO had told them that since this is an internal matter they will carry out their own investigation and take appropriate action. Do you think they will do anything.....

It seems the chinese based parties in Barisan Nasional, mainly MCA and GERAKAN is faced with a big dilemma and have started a nationwide campaign to gauge their support. It is now learnt that the chinese are really unhappy and this is going to be very detrimental to these chinese based party, and the Barisan Nasional in general at the coming polls.

The UMNOputras have never learnt their lesson from the May 13 incident it seems. Or are they trying to create another incident so that they can claim further reliefs at the expense of the other races in Malaysia?

Only time will tell?

It will all depend on the voters at the next general elections.

I am a Malaysian and feel that justice for all must prevail. If we treat every citizen equally then our country Malaysia will prosper. The really needy needs special attention which all Malaysians will agree but assistance should NOT be to the extend of 'spoon feeding'.

I hope I have explain my stand - abdullah badawi.

Thanks for patronizing my blog site.

Kamal,

If you are not a freedom fighter, then you would most likely reveal the true indentity of all your bloggers when they arrest you.

Whereas, RPK was ISA before and he was a freedom fighter. So, the bloggers would have more trust in him that he will not reveal their indentity if RPK was torture in prison.

THe bloggers need protection, as they won't be famous. While you will be famous and earn your credit from the world.

Kamal,

I admired your sense of non-prejudicial opinions and upholding natural justice. Tho you are a Malay, you were not afraid to highlight the plights of the others, irrespective who they are. UMNO had shown that they are unIslamic. PAS had proven that tho they are an Islamic party, they cared for everyone, irrespective of race and religion while they implement Islamic rules and regulations. I am not a PAS supporter nor a sympathiser, yet, I felt emphatic with their doctrines and good governance.

Kamal,

Kudos to you for having the courage and inclination to voice the sentiments of many. I am no politician nor do I have much interest in politics - be it those prevalent in government, workplace, homes or communities. However, there is no way one can escape its impact if one chooses to live within a society.

I also agree with you that respect should be a way of life. Not just during the UMNO assembly but at ALL times. It is interesting to see how disrespectful our 'wakil rakyat' is - this amidst thousands of Malays renowned for our 'budi bahasa, sopan santun, budi pekerti'.

The smallmindedness on public display makes me shudder to think that I voted these folks into office.

Thumbs up to you. I like your spirit and passion.

Dear Kamal,

I hope there are more Malays like you and RPK who dared to voice out. Malaysia desperately needs more people like you (i.e Malays who are progressive and have a global perspective in a lot of issues).

I people like you are not the minorities. If not, it will be very difficult for Malaysia to move forward.

Less Malay, Chinese and Indian but More Malaysian.

Malaysian First.

UMNO is the stumbling block towards national unity. Unless we do away with UMNO, there's no way for Malaysia to move on as an united nation.
