LIM GUAN ENG SWORN IN AS PENANG CHIEF MINISTER


Lim Guan Eng, State Assemblyman for Air Putih and DAP Secretary-General was officially sworn in as the fourth Ketua Menteri (Chief Minister) of Penang at the Sri Mutiara in the presence of Yang Dipertua Negeri (Governor), Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas today.
The appointment letter was witnessed by Penang State Secretary, Datuk Jamaluddin Hassan.
The ceremony was also witnessed by out-going Chief Minister, Tan Sri Koh Tsu Koon and President of Parti KeADILan Rakyat (PKR) Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
It has been reported that Lim Guan Eng had pledged to do away with the New Economic Policy (NEP) and he hope to restored the people's freedom in his administration in line with non-racially-based policies.
