DATUK SERI ABDULLAH AHMAD BADAWI TO RESIGN IN JUNE 2010

Malaysiakini reported that Prime Minister and UMNO President Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi announced today that he will step-down or retire in June 2010 and will hand over to his deputy Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak which was made known to the Supreme Council and a special briefing involving Divisional leaders at Putra World Trade Centre this afternoon. Datuk Seri Abdullah informed that he had already briefed the UMNO Supreme Council of his decision and the grace period of 2 years were required to complete all his unfinished promises and projects.

Meanwhile, UMNO veteran leader Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah quoted that it was unconstitutional for such a hand-over and said that it was up to the delegates to decide. Tengku Razaleigh stated he will challenge Datuk Seri Abdullah for the president's post at the December 2008 UMNO polls.

Is UMNO going to CRACK once again?
