Probe AG for ill-conceived attempted murder charge
(my comments as published in MALAYSIAKINI ONLINE today)
The 31 Hindraf protesters who were denied bail by the Shah Alam Magistrates’ Court on the application of attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail clearly reflects how the Barisan Nasional government treats poor and weak rakyat.
It is very clear that these 31 protesters comprised of lorry drivers, students and labourers who merely wanted to participate in the peaceful assembly to support it and make the government realise that Indian Malaysians have been marginalised. Despite empty promises made at each election, they have faithfully voted the ruling party to power.
The fabricated charge of causing hurt to the police officer seems really absurd. The government and attorney-general has stooped so low in prosecuting these innocent people just to prove that they are strong, powerful and can do anything. From this episode, it is clear that there is no justice for the poor, ordinary rakyat. The rich and powerful can create any situation to cause harm to these poor souls.
Since meeting with Indian NGOs on Friday, Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has agreed to advise the attorney-general to review the case and drop all charges against these innocent victims.
It is very clear that the rakyat need to investigate the grounds on which the attorney-general himself had to attend to these simple matters. He has many capable assistants but chose to champion an unwanted cause himself and gave the wrong picture to the rakyat. The presiding judge must have been surprised by the presence of the AG and consented to the request out of fear of reprimand.
These poor 31 Hindraf protesters have been victims of this unjust system. There is no compensation for the ill-feelings and hatred these victims, their families and supporters have for our “crook” system.

ATTORNEY-GENERAL WITHDRAWS ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGE ON 31 HINDRAF DETAINEES
The Attorney-General, Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Patail had today withdrawn the attempted murder charge against the 31 HINDRAF protesters now detained at Sungei Buloh Prison.
They had all (26 of them) been granted bail of RM500 each and the sentencing has been fixed on 27 December 2007 while six murder accused were freed without their defence being called which include the students.
With this issue, the time has come for the rakyat to demand an explanation from the Attorney-General Abdul Ghani on how he could frame the attempted murder charge when these 31 protesters were having a peaceful but illegal (according to the authorities) on November 25, 2007 although the Federal Constitutions provides for a peaceful protest by any group to express their discontentment.
The AG should now be taken to task.
If the explanation is unfavourable by the Attorney-General, he needs to be sacked and sentenced to atleast 10 years in jail for not performing his duties as entrusted by the rakyat. Only then, will future government officials perform their task according to the rule of law.

This morning, the police stopped almost 1,000 supporters of HINDRAF who wanted to gather at Kamunting Detention Centre to show the authorities that the 5 HINDRAF leaders who were arrested under ISA was done under malice and ill-fate, since they had only voiced the grievances of the Indian community through peaceful means that the Malaysian Indians had been neglected and marginalised by the government since Independence in 1957.
The families of the detainees were also holding a prayer sessions at a nearby temple.
The police had mobilised water cannons standby at the site and used psychological tactics to frighten the peaceful protesters.
There were no reports of any incident reported.

PM ABDULLAH AHMAD BADAWI MEETS INDIAN NGO REPS
Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Prime Minister Malaysia, met 14 NGO leaders and representatives at his office at Putra Jaya today together with MIC President, Datuk Seri S.Samy Vellu. It is learned that PM Abdullah was deeply concerned with the plight of the Malaysian Indians and had given his personal assurance to look into their matter.
PM Abdullah further stressed the importance of using the ISA on the 5 HINDRAF leaders and requested these leaders to explain to the Indian community that it was done to maintain stability and peace in our country.
The first step towards the plight of the Indians has already commenced.

4. K Ganapathy, 38, lorry driver.
5. K Sukumaran, 24, foreman.
6. S Kumaran, 25, farmer.
7. B Varatharaju, 32, foreman.
8. M Kuna Sekaran, 24, machine operator.
9. V Ganeson, 40, lorry driver.
10. L Thiyagarajan, 31, sales executive.
11. S Gunaa, 21, is a farmer.
He only gets salary when there is work.
12. K Thinagaranpillay, 23, manager.
13. N Balamohan, 23, part-time worker.
14. K Gopinath, 27, store keeper.
15. R Suresh, 24, runs his own business.
16. G Suman, 20, runs his own business.
17. M Buwenthiran, 24, technician.
18. M Pushparathan, 21, technician.
19. S Tail Arasu, 26, despatch boy.
20. N Ramasamy, 43, is a driver.
He is also a kidney patient. He showed his dialysis card in court but this was dismissed by judge Azimah as it did necessarily prove his health condition.

Righfully, a peaceful demonstration is allowable and it is provided for in the Malaysian Constitution. Involving the Attorney-General personally in this matter seems very surprising and this had once again tarnish the legal circle in Malaysia.
These people had just participated in a peaceful demonstration and never knew the contents of claim and for this crime to be 'cooked-up' is that they have harm a police personnel is just unbelievable.
The government and legal circle need to realise that 'for every action there is equal and opposite reaction' and TIME will tell.
The said act clearly demonstrate the suppressing of the poor by the strong, powerful and wealthy institution.
Its time for the BN government to realise that these will NOT stop the Malaysian Indian community from demanding for their rights as a equal partner in the country, and all this marginalising so far NEED TO STOP once and for all.
To avoid further mistrust with the government, it would be best for these 31 people to be released and their matter dismissed by the Court, to protect the good image of our country internationally and to live in peace and harmony.

AN UNHAPPY MALAYSIA
It has been reported today that the government has arrested five(5) leaders of HINDRAF namely P. Uthayakumar, M. Manoharan, R. Kenghadharan, V. Ganabatirau and T. Vasanthakumar, under the Internal Security Act. This action was expected to come but since the current leadership had always claimed to be clean and fair, this latest action had taken the country by surprise and the Barisan Nasional will face the stiffest election in the coming polls. It is predicted that they may even lose the coming polls due to their uncaring, ineffective, inefficient and corrupt nature.
One thing the government need to realise is that they have lost the Indian votes at this moment. The struggle for the Indian rights will continue. Even the legal advisor for HINDRAF Uthayakumar had made a video clip http://www.malaysiakini.tv/?vid=1535 and http://www.malaysiakini.tv/?vid=1534 advising his supporters to keep continuing their struggle until the government concede to their demands.
Malaysia will be experiencing its darkest moment in the days to come with many more demonstrations and protest. The Barisan Nasional government will be eventually shamed for taking this drastic form of action against the minority group which had claimed for its rights to be restored as a citizen of Malaysia.

MORE ARREST ON THE WAY, WARNS THE BN LEADERS
It is been notified that more arrest on demonstrators and protesters of the so-called illegal rallies held a couple of weeks ago will be underway.
The Barisan Nasional (BN) leadership seem to be very unsecured at this moment and fear that their support is diminishing drastically with many more planned and informed protest or demonstration. The Police on the other hand, seem to be securing Court Orders just to keep these people from having a peaceful rally which is clearly provided for under the Federal Constitution. The Courts and the Attorney-General Chambers are creating a mockery by condoning to the actions of the Police and the ruling government. These law officials are granting these Orders and refusing bail in fear of their respective positions. Such a shame that qualified in the specified field, they are interpreting them wrongly and creating a mockery of the situation.
All these institutions fail to realise that they will be answerable to the rakyat and not to the BN leaders or authorities.
The PEOPLE'S POWER is about to rise and all these Institutions will face heavy casualties.
Just undermining the trust given by the rakyat until this time is already a great conciliation.
Its time for the ruling BARISAN NASIONAL to admit that they have failed in performing their duties as entrusted and graceful 'get lost'.
Let the rakyat give its new mandate to a more able, clean and effective group to manage the nation who will be able to resolve all pending issues and treat every citizen equally.

FESTIVAL OF RIGHTS RALLY TODAY
The Human Rights Day was observed in Malaysia today. The Bar Council which had earlier organised to have a march from Sogo in Kuala Lumpur had to cancel this event after been instructed by the Police.
Even then, a group of lawyers had carried out this march and this is the video clip which is self-explanatory http://www.malaysiakini.tv/?vid=1521 .
These clearly shows how arogant the police force are towards the members of the public. Its time for the rakyat to show the police force that they are SERVANTS OF THE RAKYAT and they need abide by the rakyat say.
Its TIME FOR THE RAKYAT to demand an explanation from the police force or to demand that a inquiry be formed to investigate into the abuses created by the police force against the rakyat immediately.

MALAYSIAN IDENTITY UNDER SIEGE
Since the HINDRAF peaceful demonstration of November 25, 2007 and the BERSIH peaceful rally on 10 November 2007, Malaysians are faced with many important questions as regards to their FREEDOM and identity.
HINDRAF or Hindu Rights Action Force claims that the affirmative action practiced in Malaysia is victimising them to the extend that their plight is not considered. The Malaysian Indians claim that they are totally neglected by the present government and feel that their community is facing a crisis and require government intervention so that some form of immediate assistance is given to uplift their community to enjoy a reasonable living.
In the meantime, BERSIH or Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections claims that there is NO FREEDOM in the election process and every election had been manipulated by the ruling Barisan Nasional government, and as such, had handed a memorandum to the Agong (King) to seek his Highness assistance to conduct a total review of the Election Commission so that a clean and fair elections can be held with the coming polls, expected sometime next year.
But as usual, the Barisan Nasional government, that governs the country, refutes both these allegations as baseless.
A search conducted had revealed that a group had created a video clip in Youtube named M for Malaysia - Past, Present and Future http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EY-ZfuYSJx8 when viewed highlights the emotional feelings of the rakyat.
If the present government does not take steps to address these allegations immediately in a diligent manner, the ruling Barisan Nasional will surely be voted out by the rakyat. The government had been branded inefficient, ineffective and corrupt with no care for the ordinary poor rakyat's well-being.

This morning, at the Shah Alam Sessions Court, Judge Azimah Omar denied bail under national security reasons while basing on the severity of the charges to remand all 31 HINDRAF demonstrators involved in the killing of a policeman at Batu Caves on November 25.

PM ABDULLAH AHMAD BADAWI SHOULD PERSONALLY MEET HINDRAF LEADERS
With growing tension arising in the Malaysian Indian community over they been marginalised, it would be in the best interest of Malaysian Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to meet them quickly to resolve or listen to their woes, and make his own assessment.
The Malaysian Indians have lost confidence with the Barisan Nasional Indian parties like MIC ,Gerakan or PPP, since they have been giving false promises. Datuk Seri S. SamyVellu, the President of MIC, had failed to look after the welfare of the Indians at large but only concentrated on his 'close' MIC members only. Even ordinary MIC members have expressed their disappointment that they are treated like 'dogs' when they turn up to meet SamyVellu at his office or at his home. Favouritism is always given to the divisional and higher ranking MIC officials by Samy Vellu.
Just claiming to be the champion of the Indian cause, SamyVellu had failed to perform effectively for all Malaysian Indians, irrespective of their status and/or political belief and he needs to accept, this failure and graceful withdraw from claiming to be the 'champion of the Indians'.
The Malaysian Indians are expecting PM Abdullah to personally oversee their problem and resolve them.

With growing tension arising in the Malaysian Indian community over they been marginalised, it would be in the best interest of Malaysian Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to meet them quickly to resolve or listen to their woes, and make his own assessment.
The Malaysian Indians have lost confidence with the Barisan Nasional Indian parties like MIC ,Gerakan or PPP, since they have been giving false promises. Datuk Seri S. SamyVellu, the President of MIC, had failed to look after the welfare of the Indians at large but only concentrated on his 'close' MIC members only. Even ordinary MIC members have expressed their disappointment that they are treated like 'dogs' when they turn up to meet SamyVellu at his office or at his home. Favouritism is always given to the divisional and higher ranking MIC officials by Samy Vellu.
Just claiming to be the champion of the Indian cause, SamyVellu had failed to perform effectively for all Malaysian Indians, irrespective of their status and/or political belief and he needs to accept, this failure and graceful withdraw from claiming to be the 'champion of the Indians'.
The Malaysian Indians are expecting PM Abdullah to personally oversee their problem and resolve them.

HELLO PM BADAWI - 1 WEEK TO MEET HINDRAF LEADERS TO RESOLVE
The Hindu Rights Action Force (HINDRAF) had given Malaysian Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to meet them to resolve the matters for which memorandums have been submitted to him a couple of months ago. The HINDRAF leaders have decided to shelve all their plans for a week, to give PM Badawi the opportunity to meet and resolve the pending matters amicably.
Its been learned that these HINDRAF leaders are about to commence a tour to gather support from a few 'big' powers to strengthen their claim.
It should be commendated that these leaders are prepared to settle the problem faced by the minority group in Malaysia and find an amicable settlement favourable to all parties.
Its now up to PM Badawi to respond...............

TIME FOR HINDRAF TO 'COOL-OFF'
HINDRAF would urgently need to stop any further form of action if they really want to help the Indian community in Malaysia. Their actions have now been seriously considered by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. We need to appreciate their contribution in creating awareness among the leadership that the Indian community had been 'suppressed' for such a long time, even though they had contributed considerably to nation building.
The government will now focus on improving the lives of the Indians, since the Cabinet had ask for a task force to investigate and report to it. Maybe, the leaders who claim to champion for the Indians cause, may have been the 'culprits' and Indians had been given empty promises that their welfare will be looked into. It may be time for these so-called 'champions' to quit and let capable and efficient leaders to undertake this task. We must take into account that Datuk Seri S. SamyVellu had done a lot but the communities expectations are far too great and maybe he must have only help those who are 'close' to him and the MIC. The problem would have lied there.
But whatever the circumstances, the Indians must be happy that their plight is now considered and as usual, nothing could be done overnight.

RASHID TO BLAME FOR 'BERSIH RALLY'
It has finally been revealed that the Pengerusi of Suruhanraya Pilihanraya Malaysia (SPR), Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman was the main cause of intimidating the rakyat to send a memorandum to the Agong. This was disclosed to a delegation by Rashid on 3 July, 2007 as reported by Setiausaha Sekretariat Bersih, Faisal Mustaffa today. A tape recording of this meeting is available and it is hope that it will be made available to the rakyat by Internet means so that everyone can access and hear the conversation made.
The Barisan Nasional leadership need to make a IMMEDIATE apology to the rakyat for wrongfully undermining the rakyat's intentions. The Police should immediately withdraw all charges against every demonstrator and make BN pay compensation to every victim hurt or harshed by the police force. No public funds should be used. All BN component parties need to foot the bill or face bankruptcy.
Rashid should be sacked immediately and the SPR revamped with new and able leaders.
The Agong to resolve all pending matters immediately without consulting the BN government or its leaders. A White Paper should be recommended to look into the allegations made.
All BN leaders who had made irresponsible remarks should gracefully resign or be immediately SACKED.
The rakyat's confidence in the government institution to be immediately resolved.

BREAKING THE 'CLASS' TRADITION IN MALAYSIAN SOCIETY
Since the demonstration of HINDRAF on 25 November 2007, many views have been made, some to the extend that HINDRAF is just mentioning about Malaysian Indians of hindu origin and their plight. It needs to be realised that the group had witnessed the demolition of hindu temples and in certain cases, the relocation of the hindu temples were to unfavorable locations, like next to a sewage pond. I am sure any GOD fearing individuals will protest to this call. The group had prepared its grievances and have forwarded them to the relevant authorities but nothing had been forthcoming.
Due to the great success of the demonstration, estimated more than 30,000 people despite every level of control by our 'inefficient' police force, the focus of attention had been diverted to religious sentiments, which could be classified as 'seditious'.
The factor that the authorities fail to highlight is the treatment of Indians. Malaysian Indians are classified under the category of 'non-bumiputra' in the Malaysian society, together with the Chinese and others, and they are treated like second and third class citizens in their own country where they are born. These group are deprived of many privileges as enshrined by the Federal Constitution.
This is where the root of the problem. Malaysia practises 'CLASS CULTURE' similarly like the caste system in India.
Everyone feels that 50 years is more than enough to uplift a certain community that had expected assistance. If the government had failed to bridge the gap of disparity, then the government is to be blamed. I am sure no Malaysian wants to see his fellow Malaysian deprived of a decent living. But the 'spoon-feeding' of the Bumiputras need to be STOP. If this group does not want to stand on its own feet after 50 years of assistance, it will never happen, even after another 100 years. Certain people have exploited these privileges to the extend of becoming millionaires, and neglecting their own fellow bumiputras since they are in an 'influential' position. These are the flaws that the Malaysian society wants to stop and address.
To attack directly against the concept had failed on numerous occasions. Internal Security Act (ISA) is been used or threatened to be used to diffuse these people.
The TIME HAS COME for the government to have a new agenda if the present government wants to continue in power. Treat every citizen equally and fairly. There may be instances where a particular group may need assistance, give them but this need to be clearly expressed that this offering will expire in 5 years from now. Then every citizen will be declassified as 'BUMIPUTRAS' irrespective of their culture, religion or race.
I am sure these ill-feelings will never arise and we can live in peace and harmony as one HAPPY MALAYSIAN SOCIETY.

THE MERDEKA DILEMMA
I am surprise to find out that the Malaysian Malays are retaliating by emailing the 'Speech delivered by Tun V.T. Sambanthan in the Dewan Rakyat (Parliament) on 1st June 1965', which reads as follows::
"Now, in 1955 we won the elections with a great majority. Then we obtained freedom in two years time. During this period, we had to discuss citizenship and various other things. Now, what did the Malays do – since we are speaking on racial lines – what did the Malay leadership do? They had 88 percent of the electorate still with them. What did they do with citizenship? If we look around in Asia and in East Asia, particularly, you will find that my race the Indian race, is not welcomed in Ceylon, is not welcomed in Burma. Look at my brother Chinese race, it is not welcomed in Thailand, in Vietnam, in Cambodia, in all the other areas. What help do they get for citizenship in all these territories? In Burma, as we know, Indians have been send packing, in Ceylon they refused them citizenship and in Burma it is likewise. I know it, you know it. And yet in Malaya what happened? Here, we found that the Malay leadership said, "We shall take them unto ourselves as brothers, we shall give them full opportunity to live in this country, we shall give them every opportunity to become citizens". And so, in 1957, for the whole year, we waived language qualifications, and tens of thousands of Indians, Chinese, Ceylonese and others became citizens."
This speech is history and lets leave it as it is. Its not going to benefit anyone, since many changes has happened subsequent to this incident.
Its been half a century now since Independence and its time for every citizen to be treated equally and fairly. There should be no disparity between the communities except for the natives or Orang Asli, since they are still backward.
Every community has struggle to secure the Independence of this nation and it may be time that they treat everyone as brothers and sisters. Then, this sort of incidence will never occur.
Let's face reality.

K. DEVAMANY FACTOR
It needs to be noted that the courage of MIC Member of Parliament K Devamany for standing up for the HINDRAF rally on sunday, particularly in reference to violence been used by these protestors. Although MIC chief, Datuk Seri S. SamyVellu had earlier announced that any member could support the intended rally on their personal capacity, but the party feels that through discussions, problems of the community could be resolved if the leaders of HINDRAF were to approach him.
Breaking his usual routine, where he is forced to accept every action of the Barisan Nasional, whether right or wrong. Devamany's supported that a review of the Indians position need to be seriously considered should be appreciated and the government should immediately set-up a committee to look into the areas where the Indians require assistance and attention.

THREE HINDRAF LEADER'S SEDITIOUS CHARGES DISCHARGED BY COURT
At the Klang Sessions Court today, the three keys leaders who were arrested and were charged for seditions charges, their case was discharged without being acquitted by Judge Zunaidah Mohd Idris. It was informed that the prosecution had failed to submit the tamil translation of the alleged seditious remarks by these HINDRAF leaders that they had relied on.
It seems that our police force have wasted public funds for this unlawful arrest, and had also created a mockery of themselves in the eyes of the law. The arrest was meant to frighten the minority population in Malaysia from not taking part in the so-called illegal but peaceful demonstration at Kuala Lumpur on sunday as provided for by the Federal Constitution.
Sunday's rally had show the authorities that the times have changed and the rakyat are going to demand for equal status since every citizen irrespective of the culture, religion and race are entitled to.
Time for the authorities and the government to understand the feelings of the rakyat and make whatever adjustment quickly, failing which it is forecasted that the present government will be overthrown in the coming polls.

HINDRAF RALLY TODAY DESPITE POLICE WARNING

A couple of days ago, the police had obtained a court order to stop the indians from demonstrating at the British High Commission at Jalan Ampang at Kuala Lumpur on this sunday. But the police have never been given the right to use force, like tear-gas, chemical water cannon and unlawful arrest of against the peaceful demonstrators. This is a clear breach of their duties and undertaking of the court order.
Its time for the Malaysian government to seriously take into consideration the plight of the non-bumiputra population and to address their problems before the situation get out of hand. It should be noted the Malays from UMNO had demonstrated at a few ocassions to express their dissatisfaction and in support but nothing like these had been done, except the police had kept vigilante.
It is further expected that the coming general election that is expected to be held by 2008 will see a major change of elected leaders from the present government represenative to the Opposition in wake of dissatisfaction of the rakyat until and unless the present government resolves these issues at hand.

A couple of days ago, the police had obtained a court order to stop the indians from demonstrating at the British High Commission at Jalan Ampang at Kuala Lumpur on this sunday. But the police have never been given the right to use force, like tear-gas, chemical water cannon and unlawful arrest of against the peaceful demonstrators. This is a clear breach of their duties and undertaking of the court order.
Its time for the Malaysian government to seriously take into consideration the plight of the non-bumiputra population and to address their problems before the situation get out of hand. It should be noted the Malays from UMNO had demonstrated at a few ocassions to express their dissatisfaction and in support but nothing like these had been done, except the police had kept vigilante.
It is further expected that the coming general election that is expected to be held by 2008 will see a major change of elected leaders from the present government represenative to the Opposition in wake of dissatisfaction of the rakyat until and unless the present government resolves these issues at hand.

HINDRAF LEGAL COUNSEL ARRESTED UNDER SEDITIOUS CHARGES
It has been reported this morning that the police have arrested Mr. P. Uthayakumar, the legal representative of Hindraf (Hindu Rights Action Force), who are planning a massive gathering of at least more than 100,000 people under the Seditious Act.
With this police action, will the sunday rally be called-off? It seems that the people will be gather much more than expected to support the memorandum and also to show support to Uthayakumar.
The police action has tarnished the Malaysian reputation and image that something is drastically wrong and the government wants to cover-up by arresting the people involved.
This is in clear breach of human rights.
Will the government and police ever learn.

'KAYVEAS - TAIPING IS MINE' A BIG JOKE
It has been reported in Malaysiakini today http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/75081 that Datuk M. Kayveas claims that Taiping is his parliament seat.
Kayveas fail to realise that being a non-member of PPP(People's Progressive Party), he disqualifies himself of being a Barisan Nasional candidate. With the current judicial scandal, it is hoped that Kayveas manipulation of court cases and subsequent false recognisation by the Registrar of Societies will surface and Kayveas, being a leagal officer of the courts need to be severely punished for undermining the court process and for 'cheating' the government department.
Taiping is GERAKAN's allocation by the Barisan Nasional. Due to their generosity, GERAKAN had allowed Kayveas to contest the last general elections. So, how can Kayveas claim Taiping is his?
The PPP, day by day is dwindling in membership. Puteri UMNO itself had self-explained the strength of PPP. Until Kayveas is able to increase membership (only after he becomes a lawful member) can he demand for any seat.

HINDRAF RALLY THIS SUNDAY - IT WILL HAPPEN IRRESPECTIVE OF THE WARNING
It needs to be noted that the Indian community is really fed-up with the attitude of the Barisan Nasional government for neglecting their plight even though it is a known fact that many of the Parliamentary and State Legislative seats really depend on the voting pattern of this Indian community. Barisan Nasional had always depended on them and the indian community had always been faithful in delivering their votes in block with the assumption that their welfare will always be seriously considered.
The recent demolition of hindu temples by the authorities has greatly created a sense of mistrust on the government. The MIC or other indian parties are not taking care of the welfare of the indians instead they are only worried about themselves and their comprates.
We need to appreciate the organisers of Hindraf rally, even if it does not materialise this sunday, that they have set a eye-opener to the BN government that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH and any further anti-indian actions will be dealt with very severely by the indian community.

It is also been learned that the British Government had also accepted liability that the Merdeka social contract had been breached by the Barisan Nasional government, which had to ensure the indians, who were brought by the British from India to help develop Malaya (now Malaysia), their welfare had to be protected and the agreed social contract honoured. This had created a 'mile stone' in Malaysian history and any development will indirectly tarnish the human rights aspects of Malaysia in the international world, if the BN government does not seriously look into and settle these outstanding grievances.
The BN government had always neglected the indian community since the community comprise less than 10% of the population, but it is internationally known that the minority rights are always considered seriously by any nation.

THE 'BROOM' MARCH WILL COMMENCE
We need to commendate Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo for introducing a broom award to instil a wake-up call to the poorly performing government department in his State.
With this introduction, the rakyat should also commence by carrying a broom to all the Barisan Nasional leaders residence to show their displeasure on the way the BN government has been running our country - ineffective, inefficient, uncaring and corrupt. To really shame these Yang Berhormats, the rakyat need to whack them on their heads since the rakyat is paying their salaries and allowances, so they are deemed to be the 'servants of the rakyat'.
This bold move by the rakyat will shame these so-called Yang Berhormats in the eyes of the world, and it will display that the peoples' power will always be supreme and will always need to be respected, addressed and upheld.
Even the police and judiciary need to receive the same treatment, since they are 'dogs of the BN leaders'.
It is hoped that with this new BN culture and tradition, BN leaders themselves will change for the better by caring for the rakyat or face the same treatment.

BARISAN NASIONAL USING 'REVERSE TACTICS' ON THE FEELINGS OF THE PALACE & RAKYAT.
Since the successful peoples' protest on November 10, 2007, where more than 40,000 people had gathered without fear or favour to demand for certain reforms, as usual, the Barisan Nasional, being threatened, has begun to use 'reverse' tactics which they are very fond of using, to frighten certain quarters.
Since the protest, nowhere did the organisers, BERSIH quote that they have had the palace involved. The only thing that happen was that a memorandum was presented to the Agong at Istana Negara. Least of all, it was reported that the Agong personally accepted this memorandum although it was unusual since the Agong would usually be away to his home-state. Now, the Barisan Nasional government, with fear of a massive defeat in the coming polls, have initiated a scheme to create enmity against the Royal Palace and the BERSIH organisers and to show that the Barisan Nasional government is the only party that can deliver using rightful means. The rakyat can NO LONGER be hoodwinked by these gimmick tactics. Since they (BN) and the police had been shamed, they need to find a quick solution to show their superiority.
The Barisan Nasional government which has been branded as ineffective, uncaring, inefficient and corrupt, should change. They need to manage the country as what have been entrusted of by them to do or allow a clean and able Party to manage our country.
It is hoped that the Royal Palace would just discard this "BN creation' and look seriously on the allegations made in the memorandum.
The time for the rakyat to take a serious view at whom they need to vote during the coming polls.

ROYAL COMMISSION OF INQUIRY TO BE SET-UP ON THE LINGAM VIDEO SCANDAL
The Cabinet have given the green light so that a Royal Commission of inquiry be set-up to investigate into the controversial Lingam Video Scandal which saw how judges were actually elevated to high office.
It is expected that the rakyat be given the opportunity to select the members of this Royal Commission rather than the BN government selecting their 'yesman' supporters who will be bias in their investigations.
It should be noted that persons involved in this episode should be brought to justice and shamed.

KAYVEAS 'PLAYING WITH FIRE' WITH UMNO NOW
The People's Progressive Party so-called president, Datuk M. Kayveas recent criticism against Puteri UMNO chief Datuk Noraini Ahmad, is totally out of line. Its seems Kayveas cannot accept criticism that his PPP has a small membership which is dwindling day by day due to his ineffectiveness and further more he has never been a lawful member, then any member recruited by him can come and go out of PPP as they wish since they are also unlawful members, and furthermore they do not contravene the Societies Act that 'a citizen can only be in one political party'.
It is hoped that UMNO will demand that PPP be removed from the BN coalition. PPP cannot contribute effectively but wants to demand for seats. PPP should be appreciative of the BN for giving them the edge for this long.
Since many BN leaders have undergone his arrogant behaviour, it may be time the BN leader take a serious look and expel PPP from its fold.
Then, Kayveas and his PPP will be a nobody and fade away, with only its history in the Malaysian chapter.

MALAYSIANS HAVE AWAKEN FROM AN ILLUSION
The BERSIH protest rally on November 10 2007, witness the awakening of Malaysians from an illusion that only the BARISAN NASIONAL can deliver every time. With more that 40,000 people participating without fear of police brutality and the on-going heavy rain that afternoon, these people had demonstrated that the true meaning of democracy. People from now on will stand up to this ineffective, inefficient and corrupt Barisan Nasional government. The climate of CHANGE has prevail and it is hoped that this will continue forever until the welfare of the people and the nation is managed according to the wishes of the people.
It was also revealed that there was a small rally at the Malaysian Students Department in London to give support to the BERSIH cause by the residents at United Kingdom on the same day.
The Barisan Nasional government had tried to use the police to frighten the public but even then the police and the BN leaders were tricked. The main motive of the rally was to present a memorandum to the Agung but it was earlier told that they would have a peaceful demonstration at Dataran Merdeka. Police had mobilised their entire police force at that area and were caught unaware of their actual plans. The crowd managed to present the memorandum to the Agung to seek his Highness assistance to resolve the matters which have been neglected by the government and authorities concerned for so long.
It is hope that the Barisan Nasional government will realise that ENOUGH is ENOUGH and concentrate on managing the country with effectiveness, efficiently and wipe our corrupt, cronyism and nepotism or be prepared to be defeated in the coming polls by the people.
It would not be easy for the present government to change their attitude that the Malaysians are all stupid and frighten by their action. But it is hoped that this first grand rally will open their eyes to reality.
Syabas to the organisers of the BERSIH rally and I hope that our multi-racial society will co-operate more effectively and collectively in future demands. The participation of the chinese and indians had not be encouraging as the malays, we have to admit. DOES ZAINUDDIN MAIDIN KNOW WHAT HE IS SAYING?????

The reporter seems to be asking a question and most of the time our Zainuddin Maidin seems to be letting out his frustration. If the Information Minister is not capable of handling any interview, he should be immediately replaced. To undermine another countries reputation is least expected of by our elected leader and cabinet minister. Malaysia should respect other countries.
Time for Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to replace Zainuddin Maidin, since he does not know how to overcome his feelings and answer intelligently. This has been his second outburst after a confortation with Lim Kit Siang with regards to comments quoted in his blog.
The public should immediately request Zainuddin Maidin to apologise for his comments above, to the countries mentioned by him and gracefully step down.

At lasts, Malaysians have threatened the ruling government formed by the 14 coalition partners, BARISAN NASIONAL that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. The people want the government to have a clean administration in every field or face a drastic defeat in the coming polls schedule sometime next year. The country is now faced with mounting corruption, cronyism and nepotism and if the government is unable to eradicate them immediately, they are presumably going to have a tough general elections. The gathering of 40,000 people although despite repeated warning by the authorities, shows the people are FED UP with the way the country is managed by the BN government. The BERSIH tactic by saying that they will gather at Dataran Merdeka and later moving to the Istana Negara was least expected by the police and indirectly created a SHAME to the Police and the government.

At lasts, Malaysians have threatened the ruling government formed by the 14 coalition partners, BARISAN NASIONAL that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. The people want the government to have a clean administration in every field or face a drastic defeat in the coming polls schedule sometime next year. The country is now faced with mounting corruption, cronyism and nepotism and if the government is unable to eradicate them immediately, they are presumably going to have a tough general elections. The gathering of 40,000 people although despite repeated warning by the authorities, shows the people are FED UP with the way the country is managed by the BN government. The BERSIH tactic by saying that they will gather at Dataran Merdeka and later moving to the Istana Negara was least expected by the police and indirectly created a SHAME to the Police and the government.

IS KAYVEAS SINCERE IN RECONCILIATION WITH MIC
Datuk M Kayveas finally agrees that he has made a fool of himself by requesting to meet MIC President Datuk Seri S S SamyVellu for a reconcilation over his recent bickering on the MIC/PPP feud.
Its seems that Kayveas plot to get publicity and recognisation from the Barisan Nasional leadership and the general public has failed.
MIC leadership should continue to pursue to expel PPP from the Barisan Nasional fold or to reprimand Kayveas and his PPP from contesting any seat in the coming polls as a punishment for under-rating the 'big brother' of the Barisan Nasional. We need to applause the comments raised by Malacca Chief Minister Mohd Ali Rustam at the recent Malacca State PPP Convention.
If the Barisan Nasional leadership were to console and offer Kayveas a seat, it would encourage future similar bickering from other small BN component parties. If one does not subscribe to the agreed principles of the BN, it must leave the coalition.
Kayveas has been using these sort of tactics far too often and it seems that Kayveas is desperate to secure a seat in the coming polls to keep his position within the PPP even to the extend of creating animosity among the other Barisan Nasional component parties to fulfill his desperate desire and aspirations.

WILL KAYVEAS STOP HIS BICKERING ON BN COMPONENT LEADERS?
The People's Progressive Party (PPP), a mosquito party within the Barisan Nasional is losing political cloud due to the dwindling membership day by day. Datuk M Kayveas or he is also known as KVS Maniam or Supra Maniam s/o Kolanda Velu who claims to be its president had been reported to have never been a member of the PPP and had conned his way to get the recognisation to be its leader from the Registrar of Societies Malaysia by using fradulent court documents to his advantage since he was the legal counsel for the legitimate members who had a legal tussle then (sometime in 1988 to 1995).
The reason for the dwindling membership is because Kayveas and his cronies are more interested in material wealth for themselves rather than to care for the members and to achieve this goal, Kayveas need to be Yang Berhormat. During the previous general election, the BN leadership had offerred him the Taiping Parliament Seat which belongs to Gerakan, which Gerakan is currently demanding back.
The recent bickering with the MIC is really uncalled for by Kayveas. Kayveas need to respect that MIC and its president, Datuk Seri S SamyVellu, who are the 'big brothers' in the BN. To make sensitive issues against the MIC should be reprimanded by the BN by not giving Kayveas or his party any seats in the coming polls. Kayveas need to always realise that ' he came into politics by chance' (as stated by Kayveas himself) and was never groomed for political life and that is why he is behaving like this. Kayveas need to seek publicity to show his presence and the best way to get his message accross the media is using this tactic.

BN should teach ‘big mouth’ Kayveas a lesson

M Kayveas’ recent outburst against the MIC is really uncalled as the Indian-based party had assisted him in furthering his law education in United Kingdom. Rather than feeling grateful, he now criticises the MIC and its leadership.
Kayveas need to realise that he has obtained the PPP leadership by dubious means when the courts were unable to ascertain his membership.
The time has come for the Barisan Nasional to expel Kayveas and his PPP from its fold. Kayveas should learn to do what he preaches instead of trying to seek publicity through cheap political stunts.
It is hoped that MIC will make a formal complaint with BN leaders to reprimand Kayveas and his PPP party by not allocating any seat to them in the coming polls.

Nazri should quit gracefully

With the current judicial issue that has been blown out of cover, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Nazri Abdul Aziz should admit that he has been feeding the rakyat with false information regarding the incidents that affect his ministry since taking office such as the Lingam tape.
Nazri should gracefully resign from his position to take responsibility for his failure to tackle the problem or the cabinet should immediately sack him for covering up these incidents which has tarnish the reputation of the government and the rakyat in Malaysia.
It’s time for Nazri to accept the rakyat's decision since he had been given a government-aided education in the legal field in the United Kingdom and which he should have used with pride and wisdom.
It is the responsibility of the government to conduct an investigation on the incidents reported and punish all those involved, irrespective of their standing. A independent body comprising of the ordinary rakyat should be established to avoid further confusion on the neutrality and independence of the panel decision. Anyone who had fouled the law should be reprimanded and punished, and only with this act will the confidence of the rakyat be restored.

TUN DR. MAHATHIR TREATED AS A 'PARIAH' AGAIN
It has been learned that the recent division elections of the UMNO Kubang Pasu which was convened on 21 July 2007 was held in a mysterious way. Tun Dr Mahathir had been the division leader for almost 22 over years before he stepped down as head and prime minister of our country about 3 years ago.
What has been reported was that the division letter calling for the meeting which was dated 3 July 2007 was only handed personally to his guardhouse of Tun Dr Mahathir's Perdana Leadership Foundation at Putrajaya on 13 July 2007 which was stamped but the stamp was manually cancelled (another cover-up). Tun Dr Mahathir received this letter on the morning of 16 July 2007, a day after the close of nominations for the UMNO Kubang Pasu division.
This clearly illustrated the attempts by UMNO to keep Tun Dr Mahathir out of the division. It seems that Tun Dr Mahathir is treated as a 'pariah' again.
From these actions it clearly denotes that UMNO does not want Tun Dr Mahathir to actively participate in its decision making.
Time has come for Tun Dr Mahathir to expose these truth and let the rakyat decide.
Will our rakyat ever learn.......more so the UMNOputras.

JUDICIARY FACES A CRISIS
It has been reported that the Judiciary is now faced with a crisis in the appointment of the Chief Justice of Malaya, since the Conference of Rulers had recently declined the nomination made by the Barisan Nasional government headed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Hj Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
Many speculation have been circulating around even to the extend that our PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi may have to resign.
One thing Malaysians need to realise is that the Barisan Nasional government is quite clever to manoeuvre the focus of attention of the Malaysian public from some drastic problems that may be faced. The Barisan Nasional government may use this issue to build the confidence of the rakyat by resolving the matter with the Conference of Rulers. Its so simple, nominate a fresh approve candidate and the matter is resolved.
But what has been hidden, will always remain hidden, until and unless we, Malaysian are prepared for a CHANGE. Only the coming polls will answer this matter.

We, Malaysians may have come from different communities, with diverse cultures, beliefs and languages, but over this 50 years, we have forged an identity and taken ownership of many things that bring us together as MALAYSIANS.
In the joyous spirit of Merdeka, we ask our fellow Malaysians to think of the things that we have shared and loved, some are joyous and some are unhappy moments. Life is never perfect.
Since it's our 50th year of nationhood, we have to continue to live in peace and harmony, while respecting each other in every way and to live as one HAPPY FAMILY.

THE TRUTH REALLY HURTS
There seems to be a sudden concern of cyber news webmasters crackdown by the Barisan Nasional government by using the police, although most news published are true. It has been revealed that some independent news or blog websites are visited by about 5 million viewers daily. It could be safely be speculated that this figure is very alarming to the ruling Barisan Nasional government, since most of the adverse news is against their mismanagement, corruption and incompetency which will affect its performance while the next general election is called which is just around the corner. Since there is a common saying 'the truth really hurts' and which the Barisan Nasional government does not want to reveal.
We need to thank these webmasters for exposing the truth and we need to admire their courage despite the consequences they may face.
On the other hand, the police force should be taken to task for not investigating millions of police reports made by the ordinary rakyat, but instead expediting reports made by those connected to the ruling government.
The ruling government, Barisan Nasional with its help by one of its wealthy and most powerful partners, UMNO had used deceitful means to sabotage certain websites to create chaos, by having 25 cyber troopers to disguise as non-malays to create racial sentiments. This sort of act should be punished.
Its time for the rakyat to evaluate its position and caste their votes they feel best when the next polls is called.

THE POSITION OF ISLAM IN MALAYSIA
Of late, there seems to be various discussions on the position of ISLAM in Malaysia. Since our federal Constitution provides that Islam shall be the official religion of the nation, and it also respects the presence of other religions and faiths. Malaysians should not be carried away by distorted news. We, Malaysians have lived in peace and harmony for almost 50 years due to our understanding of each others religion, and this should be encouraged and continued to exist. The issue of religion should never be a subject matter. As long as one respects another, that is what that matters.
Let live in Malaysia and be proud of. Until now, the world admires us for our co-operation of the various races and religion.
Lets maintain this for our future children. Malaysians should always maintain to live in peace and harmony.

KAYVEAS AND HIS UNREASONABLE ULTIMATUM TO BARISAN NASIONAL
People's Progressive Party (PPP) is still in existence due to the struggle of dedicated members unlike M. Kayveas or Supra Maniam s/o Kolanda Velu (M. KVS) as he was known fomerly, who had hijacked to be a member of the party in 1994 using deceitful means, although this is now history due to the negligence of the Courts from upholding justice.
The recent ultimatum issued by Datuk M. Kayveas, the so-called President of PPP to the Barisan Nasional that if the Barisan Nasional fails to allocate more seats to PPP, the party will not hesitate to leave the Barisan Nasional. Kayveas should have realised that the PPP is a mere mosquito party within the Barisan Nasional with its membership dwindling day by day, since it is not in any position to assist its own members, let alone the public. It is true that PPP was a force to be reckon during the 1970, as it had the full support of a great mass of people especially in Perak. But this is not the case, TODAY.
Even in 2004, the PPP had to beg the Barisan Nasional leadership for a parliament seat but managed to obtain one seat by swapping one of its safe state seat in Perak to Gerakan.
Many top Barisan Nasional officials have raised criticism against Kayveas demands.
As usual, Kayveas would have deemed his remarks have been misquoted and misinterpreted by the medias. Surprising, it usually happens to Kayveas. Another major reason that is commonly associated with Kayveas is that he loves to seek publicity and he would try to use sensitive issues to meet his end and which the medias like to publish.

UMNO'S CYBER TROOPERS - A MOCKERY IN REALITY
It has been identified that UMNO which heads the ruling government and which claims to lead the Barisan Nasional coalition had planted cyber troopers to post distorted comments in certain blog websites to tarnish the image, reputation and inter-relationship of a certain race of Malaysians. The comments have now been termed 'sensitive' by the government, so that they could formulate stiffer laws to curb true and correct information from reaching the people. UMNO had even gone to the extend of making police reports against certain websites for making and raising sensitive issues, when it is UMNO cyber troopers themselves are the main culprits. Every UMNO leaders is fully aware of these practices but seems to play along with the tune and are making a mockery of the current situation.
With this new era, cyber information could never be curbed or stopped since cyber laws wary from nation to nation. Even then, our legislators , the so-called Yang Berhormats, as they are referred to, seem to create a scene that bloggers are giving a false situation even though most of them are in fact true and correct information. MAT TAIB SHOULD BE CHARGED FOR CREATING UNREST

After reading Raja Petra recent article 'A comedy of errors' in Malaysia-Today, UMNO had used its political position to sabotage a website to meet its ulterior motives, of which Mat Taib had full knowledge of.
The time has come for the rakyat to question the police force for expediting this false report from Mat Taib, when thousands of rakyat's reports remain un-investigated.

UMNO LODGES POLICE REPORT AGAINST MALAYSIA-TODAY WEBSITE AND ITS OWNER RAJA PETRA KAMARUDDIN FOR INSULTING OUR AGONG AND ISLAM.
A police report was lodged by UMNO information chief, Tan Sri Muhammad Muhammad Taib today that the website MALAYSIA-TODAY and its owner, Raja Petra Kamaruddin had allegedly published disparaging remarks against our Agong and Islam.

WHY THE SUDDEN DISAPPEARANCE OF PM ABDULLAH AHMAD BADAWI AND HIS FAMILY?
It is discovered that Malaysian Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his family have left the country on 16 July 2007 on an unscheduled sudden trip overseas leaving many official appointments stranded (which includes disappointing New Zealand Prime Minister who is on an official visit to Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur), and he is only expected back sometime on 27 July 2007. His principal private secretary of almost 10 years, Datuk Thajuddeen Wahab is rumoured to have tendered his resignation before his departure. It is learned according to sources that the Sabah Chief Minister, Inspector-General of Police and Director General of Special Branch are in Australia to meet PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
Is something brewing up or is the next GENERAL ELECTION going to called sometime next month.

BATU TALAM STATE ELECTIONS - WILL THE RAKYAT MAKE A CHANGE
The rakyat at Batu Talam State constituency have been having a hay days for this couple of weeks due to the election of a state assemblyman as a result of the death of the Barisan Nasional representative. Prior to nominations, the Opposition parties had collectively denied participating in boycott of the various discrepancies in the election procedures and machineries which the Election Commission had fail to adhere and made a deaf ear due to its allegiance to the ruling government, Barisan Nasional although it should be independent, so as to speak. This Opposition boycott is a blow to the ruling government, Barisan Nasional as to the rakyat and also to the world which will perceive the Malaysian Government as not as what it protrait to be as a democratic, clean and caring government.
Although money politics would be rampant in Batu Talam, where the Barisan Nasional will buy votes as usual by inducing monetary hand-outs, it is really surprising that the Barisan Nasional had to use this very low tactics by undermining the 21 year old first timer Independent candidate although having claimed to be the 'people's champion' . It is for sure the Barisan Nasional wants to show the Malaysian rakyat that the Malaysian rakyat still support the ruling government although reports speaks otherwise. Will the rakyat or vote eligible rakyat at Batu Talam vote against the Barisan Nasional? It has been publicly know that the Prime Minister has left this responsiblility to his deputy, Deputry Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to deliver the seat again to Barisan Nasional. Various incidence had taken place in Malaysia that shows a poor or uncaring report of the Barisan Nasional, like the massive floods in Johor, toll hikes, and many more.
Come this Sunday, January 28 the rakyat at Batu Talam will deliver their say....VOTE the Barisan Nasional and keep on with this corrupt, irresponsible and uncaring government or VOTE FOR THE INDEPENDENT candidate to show their protest for the Barisan Nasional to change their attitude by being corrupt-free, responsible and caring government.
Whoever wins, the next general elections will be very soon which will show how the ruling party, Barisan Nasional will fare.
A vote for the INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE is a vote that the Malaysians really care for their country.

PPP SHOULD LOOK BEYOND BARISAN

I refer to the letter PPP president's political life due to Gerakan by Joseph SM. It could be true that M Kayveas had to beg the Barisan Nasional to offer him the Taiping parliamentary seat but this was done by giving up one of PPP’s own safe state assembly seats to Gerakan.
I need to agree with Kayveas that if the PPP does not merge, it will just remain an insignificant political player since its membership is dwindling by the day. But rather than approaching Gerakan, Kayveas should look outside the Barisan Nasional. My colleague had narrated to me that during his PPP struggle with PV Das and others, approaches were made to certain political parties, and one party had a very good political standing. But Kayveas probably fears that he will end up as a nobody after this merger.
In the interest of all those who had struggled to save PPP during the 1990s and especially on behalf of my colleague, I need to appreciate Joseph SM’s summing up of his letter. I only want to add this phrase: ‘For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction’.
