TAIPEI MISSION - PKR LEADERS TO MEET DEFECTORS

It is reported that five PKR leaders, party strategist Saifuddin Nasution, his deputy Fuziah Salleh, publicity chief Tian Chua, women’s wing publicity chief Elizabeth Wong and supreme council member Low Chee Chong had left for Taiwan today on a 2.20pm flight to meet with Barisan Nasional MP's who had been 'shipped' on a purportedly agricultural study trip to Taiwan in a wave to fail the September 16, 2008 Opposition takeover of the Federal Government.

It was informed that the five would be staying at the Sheraton Hotel in Taipei, the same hotel where BBC members are also putting up.

Meanwhile, Barisan Nasional Backbenchers Club chairperson Tiong King Sing is unfazed by the imminent arrival of PKR’s delegation of five in Taiwan today in an attempt to seek BN legislators.

“I won’t stop them from meeting Barisan MPs. If they want to have meetings, then go ahead. After all, we’re all MPs. If I see them (the PKR delegation), I’d greet them too,” said Tiong when contacted today.

These five PKR MP's have four days to convince their BN defectors to defect from their party so that the Opposition will be able to form the new Opposition government.

It was reveal further that the study leave would end today and these MP's were free to do anything except for returning to Malaysia until the September 17.

Malaysians are eagerly awaiting for the NEW DAWN to emerge.

3 DAILIES ISSUED 'SHOW CAUSE LETTER'

Its been reported in Malaysiakini today that the Home Ministry's Publications Control and Al-Quran Texts Unit secretary Che Din Yusof that the three newspapers, the English daily, The Sun, Chinese newspaper, Sin Chew Daily and opposition PKR's party organ, Suara Keadilan were issued the show-cause letters yesterday and the three papers had been given a week to reply.

It is reveal that The Sun was asked to show cause for allegedly "manipulating and playing up numerous sensitive issues". He however did not reveal anything more on this.

Sin Chew on the other hand, has been targeted for its recent reports on the racial slur controversy involving UMNO division leader Datuk Ahmad Ismail.

Che Din of the Ministry explained that under the ministry's guidelines, newspapers should not report on sensitive racial issues to avoid jeopardising inter-ethnic relations.

In the meantime, Suara Keadilan was over its report in its latest issue which quoted sources alleging that inspector general of police Musa Hassan was paralysed after a heart surgery.

Under the law, the Home Minister holds the discretionary right to suspend or revoke the publications' annual permit if they fail to provide a satisfactory explanation.

RAJA PETRA ARRESTED UNDER INTERNAL SECURITY ACT (ISA)

It is reported in Malaysiakini today that controversial blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin has been arrest at about 1.50pm under the Internal Security Act (ISA).

A police delegation arrived at their home at Sungei Buloh at about 1.10pm to arrest him and confiscated his computer, some books and VCDs.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar on 6 September had warned the 58-year-old editor of popular news portal MalaysiaToday could be charged under the ISA for comments allegedly insulting Islam and Prophet Muhammad since several religious groups, Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim), Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (Yadim), Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council (Maiwp) and Federal Territory Religious Department (Jawi) had lodged police reports against him for his articles.

The articles concerned were entitled "I Promise to be a good, non-hypocritical Muslim" allegedly used sentences that insulted Muslims.

But latest information reveal since the government and police were unhappy to obtain any evidence since MalaysiaToday does not belong to him, the best alternative would be to arrest him under ISA.

Since he is also not an UMNOputra, no questions would be raised. There is a normal trend that UMNOputras could say and do anything and the government consisting mostly of UMNOputras would not take any serious actions as provided by the laws of Malaysia. They are normally let off with a mere pardon although how serious the crime is. A clear case of 'double-standard'.

A NEW BRIGHT DAWN ON TUESDAY

The Opposition leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had vowed to make a surprise this coming Tuesday, 16 September, 2008, which is also Malaysia Day, by toppling the Barisan Nasional government and forming the new Opposition Pakatan Rakyat government.

Datuk Seri Anwar had indicated he would even fly to Taiwan to get the relevant BN MP's to give their defection statements in support for the new Opposition government.

This news has sent Malaysians a joyous mood since they can expect this new government to be caring, effective, efficient and corrupt-free which Malaysians have been hoping for sometime now.

But the current BN government had indicated that Datuk Seri Anwar would fail in his 'dream' but nothing could be discounted since BN is really crazy to remain in power and any fall will be very destructive to mainly UMNO, which totally depends on a BN government for its continue survival.

It is hoped that racial politics should be discarded and emphasis should be to given to every Malaysian for equal opportunity with a greater concentration be given to the poor and needy to rise to better levels with direct government assistance. Although a majority of Malays and natives will form this class, Malaysians will be proud that sincere and honest people are directly benefiting from these policies rather than to help UMNOputra cronies to build a great empire as what BN/UMNO is now doing in the name of NEP.

Let's wait for Tuesday for these SURPRISES.

A NEW DAWN - A NEW BEGINNING.

Majulah Malaysia.

ITS A JOKE - UMNOPUTRA DATUK AHMAD ISMAIL SUSPENDED FOR 3 YEARS

Bukit Bendera UMNO division chief Datuk Ahmad Ismail has been suspended for three years from the party over his racial slur against the Chinese community.

The announced was made by party president Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi after an emergency supreme council meeting which lasted about three hours this afternoon.

Datuk Seri Abdullah quoted that "the supreme council's opinion in this matter is that the statement and actions of Datuk Ahmad had caused tension and raised objections by BN component parties and we view this seriously".

Its a real JOKE. As expected UMNOputras could say and do anything and no action would be taken like ISA or charged under the Sedition Act.

It is expected that the other BN component parties are expected to voice their dissatisfaction since they had expected very stern action so that it will be a reminder to others not to raise these sort of issues in future.

After hearing the action by UMNO supreme council, Datuk Ahmad was still defiant and has no desire to be apologetic.

It seems that the best solution would be the BN government to detain him under ISA to avoid further occurrence.

Will BN or UMNO which head the government do it?

ALL EYES ON UMNO SUPREMO DATUK AHMAD ISMAIL

UMNO President and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is facing mounting pressure within his coalition partners to take swift and decisive action against UMNOputra, Datuk Ahmad Ismail, who recently stirred up a storm with comments that allegedly described the Chinese community as squatters or lodgers in the country while tearing the picture of GERAKAN Acting President Tan Sri Koh Tsu Koon with the intention of humilating him and demanding that GERAKAN be expel from the Barisan Nasional coalition.

Since yesterday's Barisan Nasional Supreme Council meeting had endorsed a request that UMNO should deal effective the matter as regards to its member and the rakyat is await for the decision made.

But whatever the circumstances, the public had voiced that Datuk Ahmad should immediately be arrested and charged under ISA while his membership in UMNO should be revoked.

Will the UMNO leadership take similar action or just play along their usual 'double standard' practice of just doing nothing.

916 - TAKEOVER OF FEDERAL GOVERNMENT - MAY NEED TO DEFER

Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim informed that he may have to defer his Sept 16 deadline to form a new Opposition government given the fact that the Barisan Nasional coalition had recently sent a large team of backbenchers to Taiwan on an purportedly 'agricultural study' trip.

But Datuk Anwar reaffirm that he has managed to obtain the required numbers and will topple the current Barisan Nasional government in the immediate due course.

Datuk Seri Anwar further quoted that he had information the members of parliament would not be allowed to return from Taiwan before Sept 16 in order to thwart his plans.

In the meantime, Malaysians are eagerly awaiting for a NEW DAWN to emerge so that a CHANGE could be seen.

ANWAR'S SODOMY CASE PUT OFF TO SEPT 24 DUE TO AG'S INVOLVEMENT

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's sodomy case was today adjourned to Sept 24 following a dispute over an order signed by Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail to transfer the case to the High Court.

When the case was called up this morning at 9.58am before Sessions Court Judge SM Komathy Suppiah, the prosecution submitted the order for the case to be transferred to the High Court. However, Datuk Seri Anwar's lawyers disputed the order as it was signed by Tan Sri Abdul Gani, whom they said should not have been involved in the case as he was a party to a complaint lodged by Datuk Seri Anwar for evidence tampering in 1998.

The lawyers pointed out that even Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi had said that Tan Sri Abdul Gani and Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan would not be directly involved in Datuk Seri Anwar's sodomy case.

Justice Komathy then fixed Sept 24 for the parties to argue on the validity of the transfer order signed by Tan Sri Abdul Gani. However, the issue of bail was not raised.

916 IS IT A DREAM OR A REALITY - WE WILL KNOW TOMORROW

There has been reports that the Barisan Nasional is mobilising to ensure that Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's prediction and hope to take over the federal government on 16 September should fail at any cost.

To combat the crossovers, BN had created a 'study' tour for its MP's to Taiwan at taxpayers' expenses and are only schedule to be back around the 17 September, a day after the schedule date.

The greatest fear for the Opposition is the sodomy case hearing tomorrow. Its been predicted that the bail granted to Datuk Seri Anwar would be revoked and he would be jailed until the disposal of the case which could drag for months which will eventually fail his plans to takeover the federal government.

But whatever the case maybe, we need to wait and see tomorrow for the outcome of the sodomy case hearing.
It is also noted that the recent racial slur by UMNOputra Datuk Ahmad Ismail is to create unrest and looking at the way the problem is handled by the leadership clearly denotes that they are hoping for a similar May 13 incident to occur so that the BN government could impose a State of emergency, enabling them to remain in power for a much long time.

ISN'T DATUK AHMAD ISMAIL A 'PENDATANG' OR 'LODGER' TOO

It seems that UMNO had been entrusted to deal with its own member Bukit Bendera UMNO Division chief, Datuk Ahmad Ismail on his controversial 'racial slur' on the Chinese community in Malaysia by the decision arrived at the Barisan Nasional Supreme Council meeting this afternoon.

What surprises most Malaysians is that Datuk Ahmad himself could be considered a 'pendatang' or 'lodger' in Malaysia similarly like any other Malaysian unlike the natives of the country. If we were to read Tan Sri Rafidah's comments http://stephendoss.blogspot.com/2008/09/kudos-tan-sri-rafidah.html clearly elaborate this situation.

It clearly shows that 'a pot calling a kettle black'.

Time for Malaysians to reunite and call themselves as Malaysians without referring to any ethnical groups.

This could only happen if the NEW DAWN Opposition government is able to form the next new government immediately.

BN SUPREME COUNCIL MEETING TODAY - JUST EMPTY TALK & NO ACTION

It was reported that the Barisan Nasional Supreme Council meeting (excluding SAPP) held this afternoon had decided to allow UMNO to take appropriate action against its member for having caused a racial sentiment on the Chinese community on the whole by claiming that they are 'mere squatters' or 'lodgers' and warned Chinese Malaysians not to mimic American Jews who not only sought to control the country's economy but also its political power, while tearing in an humilating manner the picture of Tan Sri Koh Tsu Koon publicly and demanding GERAKAN to leave the BN coalition.

As usual, BN component parties have bow down to the supreme brother, UMNO to decide. It seems that the Barisan Nasional Supreme Council is just empty talk but no action.

Since this matter is of grave importance to the multi-racial and multi-religious Malaysian society, the BN Supreme Council should have immediately arrested Datuk Ahmad Ismail under the Internal Security Act (ISA) without delay.

It was reported that after meeting PM Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi this afternoon, Datuk Ahmad was defiant as he left the meeting by saying that Malays were 'frustrated' as leaders tried to appease all the racial groups, and that Malay 'dignity' was at stake.

Datuk Ahmad further commented that 'half the Chinese say I'm a racist but most Malays say I'm a nationalist defending my race,' and 'What I see now is a rise of the Malay people, and I feel we should capitalise on the strength, the support we get from the Malay people... I know they are with me,' Datuk Ahmad was reported as saying to the reporters at site.

This clearly indicates that Datuk Ahmad would not stop until and unless he is detained under ISA.

Will UMNO do it.

RACIST DATUK AHMAD ISMAIL MEETS PM DATUK SERI ABDULLAH AHMAD BADAWI AT PUTRAJAYA

It was reported that the man at the centre of the ‘racial slur' controversy and Bukit Bendera UMNO Divisional chief Datuk Ahmad Ismail had a two-hour meeting with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi at the Prime Minister's Office in Putrajaya this afternoon.

It is quoted that Datuk Ahmad had explained his role on the ongoing controversy to PM Datuk Seri Abdullah, who is also Penang Umno chief while Datuk Seri Abdullah also gave his views on the matter during the meeting.

Meanwhile, Datuk Ahmad stated that he was misquoted and that what he did was in the interest of his party.

It is further reported that a decision on Datuk Ahmad would be made after the Barisan Nasional Supreme Council Meeting today.

WILL DATUK AHMAD ISMAIL BE DETAINED UNDER ISA?

Racist UMNO Bukit Bendera UMNO Division chief Datuk Ahmad Ismail has once again provoked the Chinese community and had strongly criticised former Penang Chief Minister and GERAKAN Acting President Tan Sri Koh Tsu Koon yesterday.

While talking at a press conference from Penang UMNO headquarters yesterday, Datuk Ahmad re-stated his stand that the Chinese community in Malaysia were 'mere squatters' and should not demand for equal status and should not question the rights of the Malays at any time.

It was further reveal that the crowd turn unruly and it was seen that they took down and tore the picture of Tan Sri Koh Tsu Koon in an act of disrespect and humiliation to Tan Sri Koh personally( a insult) and further demanded that GERAKAN should leave the Barisan Nasional coalition.

This event is now strongly criticised by the GERAKAN and MCA leadership. The Penang MCA and GERAKAN have sever ties with UMNO Penang.

In the mean while, GERAKAN had demanded UMNO and BN leadership to detain Datuk Ahmad under the Internal Security Act (ISA) immediately to avoid whatever untoward incidents that could happen in this country.

Will PM Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi demand Datuk Ahmad detained under the ISA?
The Barisan Nasional Supreme Council would meet this afternoon and it is expected that this issue would be heatedly discussed.

TUN DR MAHATHIR MOHAMAD REJOINS UMNO

It is reported that Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had indicated that he will rejoin UMNO despite his earlier demand that he will only rejoin UMNO if PM and UMNO President Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi quit these posts.

It was revealed that Tun Dr Mahathir's rejoining UMNO was persuaded by International Trade and Industry Minister and UMNO Vice President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin recently.

However, Tun Dr Mahathir has decided to support Gua Musang MP Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah for the post of UMNO president in the coming December party elections and this was disclosed by former UMNO secretary-general Tan Sri Sabaruddin Chik, were among the matters discussed at a private meeting at Tun Dr Mahathir’s Cyberjaya residence last Saturday.

But however, Tun Dr Mahathir's re-entry need to be endorsed by the UMNO Supreme Council.

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT CHANGE - RIGHT ON TARGET

With just 9 days for the scheduled takeover of the Federal Government by the Opposition, Pakatan Rakyat, it seems eminent that they will achieve their goal although the Barisan Nasional medias seem to be distorting the correct information.

It need to be noted that Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who had predicted this date, today announced that they have managed to convince at least 32 Barisan Nasional Members of Parliament to defect from their party. The Pakatan Rakyat just require 30 BN MP's to crossover to form a new government.

Malaysians are eagerly awaiting for this NEW DAWN to emerge and want to see how and what these uncaring, ineffective, inefficient and corrupted Barisan Nasional leaders will do once they have been toppled.

The rakyat had given various opportunities to the BN to change their policies to ensure that the rakyat's interest is all protected but to date this seems will never happen since the BN is only interested in themselves, cronies and UMNOputra leaders.

AWAITING the NEW DAWN to emerge.

COURT DISMISSES APPLICATION TO FREE HINDRAF 5 (Malaysiakini)

Malaysiakini reported that Ipoh High Court today dismissed a habeas corpus application to set free five Hindu Rights Action Force (HINDRAF) leaders detained in Kamunting Detention Centre under the Internal Security Act (ISA) since December last year.

The five detained were P Uthayakumar, 47, T Vasanthakumar, 35, M Manoharan, 47, R Kenghadharan, 41, and V Ganabatirau, 35, who were picked up on Dec 13 during a police crackdown on HINDRAF leaders and activists following a mammoth rally led by the human rights group in Kuala Lumpur on Nov 25.

Judicial Commissioner Ridwan Ibrahim, who dismissed the habeas corpus application, ruled that the detention of the five was according to legal provisions and the government had correctly and rightfully used its discretionary powers under the law and he finds that there has not been any contravention as alleged by the applicants of their constitutional rights to approve the habeas corpus application while the Advisory Board which recommended the extension of their detention also did not commit any wrong as it was not subject to use a judicial inquest in order to make a decision.

Leading counsel for the five detainees, Karpal Singh, described the decision as "detrimental against the basic human rights and legal justice system of the country"' and plans to file an appeal at the Federal Court in Kuala Lumpur before the end of this week.

HINDRAF supporters and the wives of the leaders detained were visibly disappointed.

ANWAR - 32 BN MP's TO DEFECT

It has been reported today that Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim made an announcement after chairing the Pakatan Rakyat briefing at Kuala Lumpur that 32 Barisan Nasional Members of Parliament have agreed to crossover.

It seems that the Pakatan Rakyat is on the way to form the next federal government as scheduled.

In the mean while, Barisan Nasional Back-benchers’ Club (BNBBC) sent 41 of BN MP’s to Taiwan for a last-minute’s ’study tour’ today and are only scheduled to come back on September 17, in an attempt to fail the Sept 16 Pakatan Rakyat takeover of the federal government.

The Pakatan Rakyat requires 30 Barisan Nasional MP's to crossover to form the next federal government.

A NEW DAWN is at sight for Malaysians.

KURUP'S PENSIANGAN SEAT DECLARED VACANT & EC TO DECIDE ON 22 SEPT

The Kota Kinabalu Election Court today declared the Pensiangan parliamentary seat, won by Barisan Nasional's Joseph Kurup on March 8 general election, be vacant.

High Court judge Justice David Wong Dak Wah decision could pave way for a by-election for Pensiangan which was won uncontested by Joseph Kurup, the President of Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS).

With the recent amendments to the election laws, Kurup would be allowed to appeal the decision at the Federal Court and Kurup has 14 days to do so, failing which there will be a by-election.

The petition was filed by PKR's Danny Anthony Andipai, who was one of the candidate for the seat. Kurup had won the seat uncontested on Feb 24 nomination day after Andipai's candidacy was rejected after he had submitted his nomination papers after the 10am deadline and his reasons were he and another candidate, Saimeh Usau were have been blocked on their way to the nomination centre.

They were subsequently allowed file their nomination with Andipai's nomination papers accepted at 10.25am and Saimeh's forms five minutes later. However, during the one-hour objection period from 11am, Kurup had raised objections to the late submissions and they were accepted by the returning officer who then disqualified the two candidates from contesting.

Kurup is currently the Deputy Rural Development Minister.

Under the recent amendments to the election law, Kurup can file an appeal against the Election Court's decision to the Federal Court, within 14 days, and the court will then have six months to hear and decide on the case. The Federal Court's decision is final and cannot be challenged.

If there is no appeal from Kurup, a by-election will be called by the Election Commission (EC) within 30 days.
