PM DATUK SERI ABDULLAH : RM3 BILLION 500km KIMANIS-BINTULU GAS PIPELINE PROJECT IS NOW ON DESPITE EARLIER ASSURANCE THAT IT'S SCRAPPED

In a usual stunning U-TURN, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi announced while officiating the 23rd Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Annual Congress at Kota Kinabalu on Saturday that his government had decided to go ahead with the RM3 billion 500km Kimanis-Bintulu gas pipeline project despite his earlier assurance on 31 May 2008 that it had been scrapped since Sabahans have raised various worries while demanded by all shades of political opinions.

PM Datuk Seri Abdullah pledged that only the surplus gas from Sabah will be piped to Sarawak from the proposed gas landing point in Kimanis to the LNG plant in Bintulu and Sabah will receive the agreed royalty as promised by the federal government.

Its been reported that Sabahans are really disappointed by this stunning U-Turn by PM Datuk Seri Abdullah and will express their disappointment.
