UMNO-LED BARISAN NASIONAL 'FEARS' SNAP PERAK STATE ELECTIONS

The political situation in Perak has taken another twist with the State Assembly Speaker, V Sivakumar announcing after charing the Special Privileges Committee that the newly Sultan appointed 'dubious' Barisan Nasional Mentri Besar and his Exco have been suspended for 18 months and 12 months respectively.

The UMNO-led Barisan Nasional leaders should show respect to the decision made by the Perak State Assembly Speaker since during many occasions before Opposition lawmakers were made 'victims' over small incidents which would embarrass the ruling BN government. Since this issue is similar to an 'hijack' into power by using the Palace, when a rightful and legitimate Mentri Besar is still in power and in control of the State.

From the statements made by Prime Minister and BN Chairman (not for long) Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his group of lawmakers claiming that the actions by the Perak State Assembly Speaker is a disrespect to the Sultan of Perak. UMNO-led Barisan Nasional leaders need to realise that the Sultan's too have to follow the Constitution and more so the wishes of the rakyat.

The wishes of the rakyat is to hold a FRESH STATE ELECTIONS so that a new able and calibre State government and lawmakers could be ELECTED.

But this UMNO-led Barisan Nasional FEARS going to the polls, since it would be highly disastrous to them.

The only and best alternative for all parties, Palace, PR and BN would be to call immediately a STATE ELECTION to resolve the present crisis of blaming one another.
