Although it's late, but it is still not too late to do something worthwhile. In fact, if it's true that he's really inviting feedbacks, that itself can be taken as partial redemption for his failings to date. Hence, his first task is to stop the erosion in the rakyat's confidence by not going ahead with Najib's appointment until he satisfactorily clears himself from the numerous baggages that he carries. Don't make the mistake that Mahathir claimed to have made in choosing the wrong successor. The effort to stop perpetuating a bad mistake, if in fact there is any truth in the claim, would go a long way to redeem Pak Lah's other shortcomings.
