Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim today named Othman Omar as the new General Manager of the Selangor Development Corporation (PKNS) effective 1 February 2009 since this position was embroiled in controversy recently by certain groups with the appointment of a Malaysian Chinese lady, Low Siew Moi.Tan Sri Khalid however dismissed any terms of reference to race in the appointment. The appointment of Othman was based on merits and his vast experience after interviewing 58 eligible candidates.
