FRESH ELECTIONS AT BATU PARLIAMENTARY SOON

It is speculated that there will be fresh election for Parliament Batu and DUN Kota Siputeh, Kedah since the current Member of Parliament, PKR Tian Chua was charged and sentenced by the Majistret Court on 22 October for 6 months and a fine of RM3,000. Any elected representative charge and fine more than RM2,000 will have his seat vacated. MP Tan Chua has already filed a Appeal to the High Court. MP Tian Chua has been reported as saying that if he fails in the High Court he will not appeal any further.

But whatever the circumstances, if a fresh polls is called it is predicted that the Opposition will retain these seats very easily. The recent 'surprise' visit by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to Batu further indicate that the BN is expecting a by-election soon.

Isn't this the case where the judge found the MP guilty merely by accepting a policeman's testimony (without corraborating the evidence)?
