COURT ORDER BARS GATHERINGS WITHIN 500 METRES FROM STATE SECRETARIAT BUILDING TO POLICE

The Police have obtained a Court Order to stop people from gathering within 500m of the State Secretariat building during the State Assembly sitting commencing tomorrow.

Perak Police Chief Deputy Comm Datuk Zulkifli Abdullah informed that the Magistrate’s Court in Ipoh granted the ex-parte Injunction to Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Azisman Alias today and had named the respondents as members and supporters of PKR, DAP, PAS and Barisan Nasional, and members of the public.

The injunction was granted under Section 98 of the Criminal Procedure Code and all respondents were prohibited and warned not to be present or take part in any gathering within a 500m radius of the building’s gates.

DCP Zulkifli informed that copies of the injunction have been be put up in areas surrounding the building for knowledge of the public.

This clearly shows that the Police, Palace and Barisan Nasional leaders fear that they have flawed the laws so far and fear the public will demand for their rights to be heard since the government is formed by the people for the people.

On one hand, you can say that the police did some pre-planning and got a court order, thus validiating whatever action they deem necessary, with the backing of the court.

On the other hand, this is a travesty of the rakyat's right to assemble and expression.

PDRM under UMNO's orders are to bully and intimidate PR supporters. For the IGP to order his goons to arrest those wearing black is blatantly violating our rights to choose our personal dress code. As long as they do not train their water cannons or fire tear gas at Perakians, it will be business as usual. For 50 years, PDRM has transformed itself from an effective law and order agency into a bullying, intimidating, brutal, corrupted, murderous and bias UMNO agency that disgusts fair minded Malaysians.
