NIZAR IS PERAK MENTRI BESAR

The Kuala Lumpur High Court ruled this afternoon that Datuk Seri Mohd Nizar Jamaluddin is the legitimate Mentri Besar of Perak and could only be removed by a vote of no-confidence by the Perak State Assembly and that the Sultan of Perak has no powers to remove him.

A new political crisis has begun. So what happens to 'bogus' Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir from UMNO ?

It is hoped that the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah will grant Datuk Seri Nizar's request to DISSOLVE the State Assembly, paving a way for a snap State elections to elect new lawmakers and to build public confidence.

God be praised for a fair ruling by the High Court and this may bring some hope back to the people that the judiciary is still acting in accordance to the law without interference from the executive. Time will tell. We were just informed that Datuk Seri Nizar would be meeting with the sultan at the Kuala Kangsar palace on tuesday morning to request for the dissolution of the state assembly to pave the way for a state election. What a breath of fresh air for Perakians!!

Dear All, we just got some information that Zambry intends to head for the Court of Appeal tomorrow to obtain a stay of execution of the High Court's ruling and also to call for an emergency meeting of the state assembly to pass a vote of no confidence against Datuk Seri Nizar. These UMNO guys are such sore losers and they have gone absolutely bananas by that ruling!!

No, Zambry is not a sore loser - just exercising his right to appeal.

Let us not lose sight that we still have to respect the due process of the law.

We can allude to the courts being biased, but that is our opinion.

Zambry can take his appeal higher up but that would make his chances of winning the people's vote even more difficult.

Chauncey Gardener, I agree that Zambry has every right to appeal against this decision but I take it you are not a Perakian like me. In Perak we know how UMNO used their power and influence to bend the judiciary to rule in their favour and impartial top legal minds including NH Chan the former judge can tell you that. You are talking about due process of law. I ask you, what law? Did we witness due process of the law on the May 7 inside and outside of the Perak state assembly? The Perak Speaker YB Sivakumar was savagely pulled from his chair and thrown out by police thugs, many people including ladies were hurt and manhandled by the police during the fiasco and Perak was literally turned into a police state. Go now to the state secretariat building in Ipoh. You see truck loads of FRU in full battle fatigue ready to do their master's bidding again. Whose 'due process of the law' are you talking about, the people's or UMNO's?
