A 12.2m high cutout of Opposition leader and PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in front of Wisma Keingat in Batu Caves which was put up since September 28 has been criticised by ruling Barisan Nasional representatives as idolatrous and a waste of public funds.
Its reported that Batu Caves Assemblyman Amirudin Shari who has obtained the relevant approvals to put the giant structure from Selayang Municipal Council claims that it was to show their appreciation to the Batu Caves residents for the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
What surprises the rakyat is when Barisan Nasional puts up giant posters and cutouts of their leaders, it is never criticised as idolatrous and waste of public funds.
To overcome these problems, it must be gazetted that no party or persons are allowed to display any picture of their leaders at any part of the country since every leader is duty bound to perform his duties and the rakyat has paid them for accepting to carry out the responsibility.
Are BN representatives agreeable to this proposal?
