MCA MEMBERS WANT ITS PRESIDENT, DATUK SERI ONG KA TING TO QUIT

The Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) is now faced with a 'leadership tsunami' after the disastrous defeat of most of their candidates in the recently concluded general elections on March 8 due to the Malaysian rakyat branding the BN leadership as uncaring, ineffective, inefficient and corrupt.

It seems that a certain group of active members have issued an ultimatum to MCA President Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting to resign or face a political turmoil with a nationwide road show which will eventually make him to resign at the expenses of a weakening MCA party.

The reasons mentioned were that he had decided the list of election candidates on his own, without consulting or listening to other party members under the pretext of rejuvenation, which saw the party fielding over 50 per cent with new candidates.

If Datuk Seri Ong does not resign, it is expected that more than 30% of its active members will resign and some elected representatives will cross-over to the Opposition parties making BN to lose control of governing the country.

Can MCA or BN afford this?
