BUYING VOTERS WITH MONEY, THREATENING GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES, BRINGING PHANTOM VOTERS - UMNO/BN STYLE OF WINNING ELECTIONS

By now every Malaysian is aware of the tricks UMNO or Barisan Nasional will use to try to win a elections.

The Kuala Terengganu parliamentary by-election is just about to end and polling is set for tomorrow morning and its a 3-corner contest between Datuk Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh of Barisan Nasional, Mohd Abdul Wahid Endut of PAS and Independent candidate Azharudin Mamat @ Adam.

During the campaign trail, the UMNO/BN initiated 'vote buying' tactics by offering federal funds for surprise projects and these were offered to mostly UMNOputra contractors in the State. Voters and residents in Kuala Terengganu were given 'angpows' of RM300 to RM500 in the name of Chinese New Year celebration just to lurk the Chinese community who are the 'deciders' in this polls. But this handouts had not gone down well, UMNO/BN had used threatening methods to instill fear on the Chinese voters.

The government employees in Kuala Terengganu were threatened that they will lose their jobs if they vote for the Opposition. The saying - your vote is a secret, no longer exist with this current 'uncaring, arrogant, ineffective, inefficient and corrupted' Barisan Nasional government. As a result, the Returning Officer for this by-election, who is also Kuala Terengganu Mayor was forced to resign as he had threatened his staffs to vote for the Barisan Nasional.

There are now reports that voters will be paid RM1,000 for voting BN on condition that they take a snap photo thru their mobile phone that they have voted for the Barisan Nasional candidate.

The usual tactic use by Barisan Nasional or UMNO when the heat is on is to bring in phantom voters to vote for them. These voters are given stay and money to gain their victory.

Since all these dirty tactics have been addressed, it would be rightful for the Election Commission to disqualify the Barisan Nasional candidate from contesting and charge him and his Barisan Nasional party in Court for violation of the Elections laws.

But as usual, these Election Commission officials too are 'UMNO boys' so nothing will happen.

Its up to the Kuala Terengganu voters to VOTE FOR THE OPPOSITION so that a CHANGE CAN HAPPEN.

The time has come for us to ban UMNO once and for all. Then, all these dirty tactics and tricks will be of the past. An to achieve this goal we need to make them lose in every election.
