He said with the strategy, a team would be set up to get Umno closer to the people, including through the use of the new media, to disseminate national issues and engage them, reported Bernama.
Speaking to reporters after launching his Facebook at his residence here Sunday night, Mustapa hoped he could woo fans to his social network site and obtain feedback from them on ways to improve the party.
'PAS in political fatigue'
On former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad's statement that Barisan Nasional would not be able to recapture Kelantan, Mustapa, who is also international trade and industry minister, said there were signs that the support for the PAS-led state government was waning.
"We know that PAS is facing an internal crisis. It is saddled with cronyism, nepotism, corruption. I think they are going through political fatigue and we can exploit these weaknesses.
"We had 5,000 people attending our ceramah (talk) recently. It is a record attendance as we never had a high turnout for a long time. I believe we can recapture Kelantan with these positive signs.
