DATUK SERI ABDULLAH AHMAD BADAWI SHOULD CALL FOR A SNAP GENERAL ELECTIONS BEFORE RESIGNING

With various accusation and criticism raised against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his administration, it would be most appropriate for him (Datuk Seri Abdullah) to call for a SNAP GENERAL ELECTIONS to gauge who will administer the country after his intended departure in March 2009.

The recent by-elections in Permatang Pauh and Kuala Terengganu have indicated that the rakyat is really unhappy with the Barisan Nasional administration, although various 'goodies' and smear campaign employed had backfired.

Just try to hand over the premiership to his deputy would be most inappropriate since he had failed to convince the voters that the BN administration is what Malaysians need and look forward to.

The position of Prime Minister is given to the member of parliament who has the confidence of the Dewan Rakyat and just trying to hand over the baton is now considered outdated since these leaders have created a scenario that the failure were attributed to the weakness of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah.

In actual fact, the whole Barisan Nasional leadership need to be overhauled, with new and younger faces to restore the confidence the rakyat will have towards the Barisan Nasional.

In order for such a CHANGE a snap general elections would be the answer and since it is the absolute prerogative to dissolve and call for the fresh general elections, it would be best of him to use this to rebuild his integrity and reputation with the rakyat.

Then, the issue of incompetency and so forth would never arise again and parties who have been calling for his (PM Datuk Seri Abdullah) immediate exit would stop making these calls in fear of their own misdeeds and abuse of position.

Let the rakyat elect the suitable candidates who will administer the country, Pah Lah.

CALL FOR SNAP ELECTIONS. I THINK IT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. THE RAKYAT IS SUPREME. NOT THE GOVERNMENT. NOT ANY POLITICAL PARTY. LET THE VOTERS CHOOSE THE NEW PM. NOT ANY POLITICAL PARTY. LETS DECIDE ONCE AND FOR ALL SO THAT THE WHOLE COUNTRY CAN SETTLE DOWN AND TACKLE THE FORTHCOMING ECONOMIC TSUNAMI THAT HAS ALREADY AFFLICTED ECONOMIES IN OTHER COUNTRIES. IF WE DON'T DO THAT THEN THIS BICKERING WILL CONTINUE UNTIL THE NEXT GE. PKR DON'T THINK YOU ARE THE LOGICAL CHOICE. THE PEOPLE MIGHT JUST VOTE IN BN AGAIN. IF THEY DO, THEN WE HAVE TO ACCEPT DEFEAT IN GRACE AND NOT DISTABILISE THE COUNTRY WITH EMPTY PROMISE OF DEFECTIONS.

...and the rakyat can quickly vote in new state governments and federal government, and the BN can then demonstrate to all of us that they are not a sore loser by handing over peacefully to Pakatan Rakyat to form new government!

I disagree with a call for a fresh elections now. I would rather see Pak Lah given two years more to fullfill his 2004 electoral promised which had been repeatedly hindered by the UMNO warlords. Don't forget we need Pak Lah to revamp the Election Commission so that it is more transparent. Pak Lah needs to introduce indelible ink and other more transparent electoral processes as recommended by MAFREL to instill public confidence in the integrity of our elections.

I thought it is only BN who has yet to wake up. stop dreaming everybody! we are addressing a bunch of corrupted politicians who hold power and not someone who plays fair and just. given the constitution allow, they would not say NO to never to go to the polls again!
So hilarious when I hear Anwar and Kit Siang talking about snap election! it's not going to happen.
It is believed Badawi still has his cronies (+son in law) in the cabinet to look after his welfare. and I'll bet my last dollar that Rosmah would not allow Najib to be a gentlemen; anyway he is not one...

snap GE?... just the rakyat's and opposition's wishful thinking.

Yes, calling for a 'snap' election is apropriate to determine the wishes of the rakyat.
