The High Court at Kuala Lumpur has declared Kota Siputeh State Seat in Kedah vacant after an application by the Kedah Speaker challenging the decision of the Election Commission to call for fresh election since the BN elected State Assemblyman Datuk Abu Hassan Sarif had been absent for two consecutive State Assembly sittings.
With this decision, a freah State Election need to be called by the Election Commission.
It has been reported that the BN will file an appeal against the decision.
