It was announced by the Chief Minister of Penang, Lim Guan Eng that the State will have two Deputy Chief Ministers, one, a Malay and the other, a Indian.
He had selected State Assemblyman of Penanti from PKR, Mohammad Fairus Khairuddin as Deputy Chief Minister 1 and State Assemblyman for Perai from DAP, Prof Dr P. Ramasamy as Deputy Chief Minister 2.
This is the first time in Malaysian history that an Indian has been appointed to this top post although they are a minority group. Makkal Shakti has achieved its goal and the Malaysian Indians must be proud of their achievement and must appreciate the Barisan Alternative (DAP,KeADILan and PAS) for their confidence and understanding towards the Indian communities contribution.
Syabas to the new State government for taking this bold step and it is expected that other States will follow this footstep.
