Shamsuddin Che Deraman or "Sudin Ajaib", who was said to have married an underage girl, is likely to face four charges under the Kelantan Islamic Family Law Enactment 2002.
They are marrying an underage girl without permission from the kadi's office, conducting a forced marriage, solemnising a marriage, and disobeying mufarakah (separation from spouse) order, said Kelantan Islamic Religious Department principal assistant director Mohd Abdul Aziz Mohd Noor.
He said Shamsuddin, who was still at large, could be jailed up to six months, fined up to RM1,000 or both for each offence, if convicted.
Mohd Abdul Aziz said initial investigations showed that Shamsudin's marriage had nothing to do with the practice of a tabligh religious sect led by him but rather an act of obsession of a tabligh member with him.
"Anyway, we will probe on the tabligh sect led by Shamsudin besides the underage marriages when he is arrested," he told Bernama.
Shamsudin was reported to have married an 11-year-old girl in Kuala Krai, Kelantan on Feb 20.
The girl, who was found at Madrasah Al-Ikhwan, Taman Samudera Jaya near Batu Caves at 6.30pm last Friday, is now recuperating at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.
Shamsudin was also reported to have married off his 10-year-old daughter to a man known as "Azhar", said to be a member of a tabligh sect, in a car.

Underage marriage..., what a man thought when married a child? Sunnah Rasul? Marriage of Prophet Muhammad and Aisha? Aisha is special woman, choice woman to accompanied Prophet Muhammad. No girl is same with her.
Besides, underage marriage has negative effect to girl, either reproduction health or psychological aspect.
