DR CHUA SOI LEK - THE NEW PRESIDENT OF MCA

With the counting of votes completed, Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek has been declared the winner, becomes MCA President.

Dr Chua Soi Lek has finally emerged triumph after beating his nearest opponent Ong Ka Ting by a water-thin majority of 68 votes. Defending president Ong Tee Keat languished in third place.

Tee Keat - 578

Meanwhile, Health Minister Liow Tiong Lai has beaten Housing and Local Government Minister Kong Cho Ha in the deputy president race. Liow Tiong Lai obtained 1,171 while Kong Cho Ha obtained 1,106.

For the vice-presidents, Ng Yen Yen won 1,520 votes, Donald Lim won 1,469, Gan Ping Sieu grabbed 1,202, and Chor Chee Heung obtained 1,202 votes.
