Name the 10 defectors-to-be, PKR youth tells ex-sec gen Salehuddin

PKR youth here wants former party secretary-general Salehuddin Hashim to reveal the names of the 10 elected representatives he claimed will quit the party in stages.

Information chief Rafzi Ramli said if Salehuddin fails to disclose the names, it would simply mean that he is a mischief maker out to discredit the PKR.

“We want him to state the names of the 10. Since he knows who they are, he should tell us.. the rakyat too wants to know,” Rafzi said.

Salehuddin made the claim when he quit PKR earlier this month. He said he and the others were all unhappy with the leadership and management of the party.

Speculation is that Salehuddin had a fallout with the PKR leadership after his request to head the Selangor Perangsang Group which carried RM50,000 monthly emolument was rejected.

'Salehuddin an Umno broker'

Meanwhile Pas Youth chief Mohd Nor Hamzah has described Salehuddin as an "Umno broker with powers to entice representatives” into declaring their independence from the party.

“It is clear that he is an Umno broker and there are two distinct groups in PKR. One group has already accepted the offers," he said.

"They are bidding their time before announcing their resignations while the other is still toying with the idea of accepting the offer,” he said.

Rumours circulating in cyberspace allege that Salehuddin has access to a RM50 million “defection fund”.

They believed that it been mobilised by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to achieve his aspiration of securing a two-thirds grip in parliament.
