PKR's Zulkifli’s fate will be known tomorrow

PKR will decide on the fate Kulim-Bandar Baharu MP Zulkifli Noordin tomorrow.

The party’s disciplinary board completed its investigation on Zulkifli’s case today and has submitted its report to party secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution. Saifuddin confirmed this with The Malaysian Insider this evening and said that he would be presenting the report during the party’s supreme council meeting at 2pm tomorrow.

“I am on my way to the party headquarters now to collect the report. I was made to understand via a phone call from the board just now that it is ready,” he said when contacted.

Saifuddin said that he would then do the necessary preparations to prepare the report to be deliberated at the council meeting.

“If the board has made any recommendations on the case, this will be discussed during the council meeting.

“The council will then decide whether to endorse or reject the recommendations,” he said.

He added that following the decision would be announced after the meeting at about 5pm.

The discplinary board had proceeded with its investigation on Zulkifli’s case although the MP had staged a walkout from yesterday’s hearing. He said in a press conference later that he refused to be tried by a panel of non-Muslims as his case involved Islamic matters.

Instead, Zulkifli made yet another appeal for the board to be dissolved and be replaced by another all-Muslim one. His request was rejected.

The outspoken politician was referred to the board for infringing a party gag order by lodging a police report against Shah Alam PAS MP Khalid Samad over the “Allah” row.
