Raja Perempuan of Kelantan laments no show by state leaders

The Raja Perempuan of Kelantan, Tengku Anis Tengku Abdul Hamid expressed sadness and disappointment with the attitude of state leaders who did not visit the Sultan, Sultan Ismail Petra, while he was receiving treatment in Singapore.

However, Tengku Anis thanked Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor and the Cabinet who constantly inquired about the sultan’s health.

“Even the former prime minister of Singapore Lee Kuan Yew came to visit but not leaders from Kelantan. That saddened me,” she said in a sad tone at a thanksgiving prayers ceremony and a Maulidul Rasul celebration that was attended by 5,000 people who filled Dewan Kompleks Majlis Agama Islam Panji, near here today.

She said the doctors who treated the sultan expressed amazement with the sanctity of the verses of the al-Quran as well solat hajat prayers that could revive the sultan.

“If we follow medicine, doctors did not think his majesty would be well. But the due to the blessings of all and the recitation of the Yassin and also the solat hajat his majesty became better.

“So those who were treating his majesty were astonished with the versus from the al-Quran. How important it is that we all read the al-Quran,” she said. — Bernama
