Senior Umno Youth executive committee member, Suffian Awang, was today sworn in as the newest political secretary to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
But Suffian who heads the Umno Youth division in Kuantan told The Malaysian Insider he will be attached to the office of Pahang-born Malaysian Ambassador to the US, Datuk Seri Jamaluddin Jarjis.
Suffian said he will be in charge of Jamaluddin’s political affairs in the central state, as well as abroad.
Jamaluddin who is also the MP for Rompin holds ministerial powers as ambassador.
A lawyer by training, Suffian is part of a growing group of Blackberry-toting youngsters, defined by the Youth Act as under-40s, to join Najib’s inner circle.
