Tan Cheng Liang ready to face music over Wanita AGM

Wanita MCA national organising secretary Tan Cheng Liang said she was prepared to face any action for going ahead and convening the annual general meeting (AGM) of the women's wing yesterday.

She said the meeting was valid and held in accordance with the party's constitution.

Wanita MCA chief Chew Mei Fun announced on Friday that the AGM would be postponed after 21 Central Committee members of the parent party resigned to pave the way for fresh party elections, now set for March 28.

Tan and a group of 350 Wanita MCA central delegates turned up yesterday and proceeded with the meeting.

Tan, who also attended the MCA AGM today, said she was not afraid and "welcomed" any action to be taken against her by the women's wing.
