TROUBLE BREWS IN MIC

Malaysiakini reported that MIC held its 62nd General Assembly at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur this morning and was officiated by Prime Minister and Barisan Nasional President Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
Surprise to many, Datuk Seri S Samy Vellu announced that he will leave it to the grassroots to choose their next leader although during the previous election he had fully supported Datuk G Palanivel to be his deputy although Datuk S Subramaniam was the incumbent then.
MIC president Datuk Seri S Samy Vellu started on a stiff note saying that "grassroots should behave like grassroots", in apparent reference to the 'walk-out" of some delegates at a party dinner last night where Party Information chief and Deputy Minister Datuk M Saravanan, who is known to be one of the 'gangster leader' left the function hall early, after having stayed for only 15 minutes with his followers following him. Datuk Saravanan was cheesed off because former deputy president Datuk S Subramaniam was seated at the main table with other MIC leaders and prominent Indian businessmen while having no due respect for protocol.
Now it seems the 'gangsters' will start creating more trouble which will see the subsequent DEMISE of Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC).
