Malaysiakini reported that a bit of drama unfolded at the Jalan Duta Court Complex this morning when lawyer Muhammad Shafee Abdullah attempted to serve a defamation summons on MalaysiaToday blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin.
Shafee, who had filed a defamation suit against Raja Petra on Wednesday, had been waiting since this morning for Raja Petra to make his appearance in the magistrate's court for another matter. Shafee planned to serve his defamation summons on Raja Petra as per the legal requirement.
However Raja Petra, when approached by Shafee to do so, ignored the lawyer and walked away.
An upset Shafee then dropped the court papers on the floor and left. They remained on the floor with Raja Petra refusing to take them.
In his defamation suit, Shafee had claimed that Raja Petra had defamed him in three of his articles.
He has also obtained an order from the Kuala Lumpur High Court to direct Raja Petra to reveal the identities of people who had commented on those three articles and to reveal his sources.
Raja Petra had refused to comment on the matter yesterday, stating that he had not received any court order on that.

When someone wants to take away your voice
Then it's natural to make the right choice
To do whatever that will cause you to rejoice
Whether you're all alone or with lovely Joyce
