SYARIAH COURT SHOULD 'PUNISH' SAIFUL FOR SODOMY

Malaysiakini reported today that Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar had quoted that although Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan had openly accused Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim of sodomising him, the Attorney-General Chambers decided to charge the opposition icon with consensual sodomy based on evidence and statements accumulated during police investigations and it was now up to the Court to decide whether or not to accept Saiful’s allegations that the accused had sexually assaulted him.

Its been widely reported that Saiful had sworn on the holy Quran that he was sodomised by Datuk Seri Anwar non-consensually yesterday evening at Kuala Lumpur. Although this act and its timing had been highly criticised by many sectors.

Surprise to many is that Saiful is also not charged together with Datuk Seri Anwar since sodomy is a crime in Malaysia and no one should be spared for whatever reasons to avoid conviction.

Furthermore, in Islam, it is a crime too and after Saiful's confession yesterday, the Syariah Court will have to punish Saiful without any further delay, to ensure that Islamic law justice is fairly served and practised. Will the Syariah Court charge Saiful? This sudden delay in justice been served seems to point that it is politically motivated and the law enforcers 'fear' to handle this matter to avoid repercussions.

Various doubts have transpired as a result of this sodomy charge which indicates to a UMNO/Barisan Nasional political conspiracy in fear that Datuk Seri Anwar and his Pakatan Rakyat coalition will topple the present Barisan Nasional government and form a new Opposition government.

With today's nomination at Permatang Pauh and Datuk Seri Anwar, a Opposition candidate, the sodomy allegation would be widely used by his challenger (BN) to undermine the credibility of Datuk Seri Anwar.

But the BN fail to realise that Permatang Pauh voters are matured enough to visualise the truth and fake and the polls will dictate their voice.

But whatever said, it seems its time we see a CHANGE in government, since BN who has ruled for the past 50 odd years are corrupted, ineffective and inefficient and need to be replaced immediately to avoid further damage.

as far i can remember.. when anwar was charged for sodomy in 1998, sukma was beaten and strip in jail to admit that he had been sodomised by the later. So why not saiful? well as our future prime minister said.. its all a gimmick!

y must be only saiful? Saiful couldnt sodomised himself. Cud he? We must forget about politicising the issue, but must really ascertain the truth of the matter, or else the Islamic truth could not prevail. As far as i could remember, there was a case in Sudan whereby a woman claim that she was being raped and bore a child. Since she could not proved the court punished her, but the human right group stepped in. So, she was released. The human rights group stepped in because it is unconceivable that she bore a child without a male.
