Sekinchan state rep might be charged with reckless driving

Police have completed their probe on Sekinchan state assemblyperson Ng Suee Lim for alleged reckless driving and may charge him if ordered to do so by the attorney-general's chambers.

On Sunday, student Mohd Bakri Mohd Bazli's motorbike collided with Ng's car at a traffic light junction in Section 7, Shah Alam.

NONESelangor police chief Khalid Abu Bakar told reporters today that his officers have completed their probe and submitted the findings to the deputy public prosecutor.

It is understood that Ng (right), who is from DAP, will be charged under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

When contacted today, Ng confirmed the matter but argued that it was not a serious accident.

He said the student is now in stable condition.

Ng denied rumours that he was drunk when the accident happened.

He claimed that Mohd Bakri rammed his rear bumper after his car hit a road divider while making a U-turn.

Bernama today reported that Ng, who was driving a Nissan X-Trail SUV, hit Mohd Bakri, 23, who was riding a motorcycle at a traffic light junction.

It also quoted Khalid as saying that there were recommendations that Ng be charged for negligence.
