Tajuddin Abdul Rahman (BN-Pasir Salak) today escaped from being referred to the powerful rights and privileges parliamentary committee for hurling "abuses" at fellow MP M Kulasegaran (DAP-Ipoh Barat).
Instead of an inquiry, House speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia issued a stern warning to Tajuddin after meeting the two feuding MPs yesterday.
"Pasir Salak (referring to Tajuddin), do not accost other MPs in the House," he said when dishing out the warning.
He also took the opportunity to remind other parliamentarians to watch their language when debating in the House.
"Please do not offend your fellow MPs," he stressed.
Tajudin refuses to retract statement
The warning came after Tajuddin ignored the speaker's earlier decision to ask him to retract his statement.
Kula filed a motion last Thursday for an inquiry into Tajuddin's alleged threat issued on the same day.
According to Kula, he was approached by Tajuddin at the Parliament lobby and was accused of tarnishing Pasir Salak's "good name" in his blog posting
Kula, however, told Tajuddin to either make a police report or sue him.
In which, Tajuddin was reportedly replied:
"I will punch you and send people to your area to beat you up!"
