I read in Malaysiakini today that Solicitor-General, Datuk Idrus Bin Harun has been entrusted to go through the investigation papers prepared by the police officers and is also expected to lead the prosecution team if Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is charged with sodomy.
According to reliable sources, Datuk Idrus Bin Harun has a very high integrity and professionalism in the legal sector but the main concerns are that he is in unfamiliar grounds when it comes to criminal prosecution.
Reliable sources indicate that the prosecution have sufficient evidence to make a prima facie case against Datuk Seri Anwar but the final decision rests with Datuk Idrus.
It seems that Datuk Idrus was entrusted this task in lieu of the fact that Datuk Seri Anwar had accused Attorney-General Tan Sri Gani Patail and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan of fabricating evidence against him when he was assaulted while in detention in 1998 under former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's tenure.
Various doubts and conflicting reports have surfaced since the report had been made which seem to be indicate a political conspiracy theory by the ruling BN government to oust the Opposition plans to form the next federal government by 16 September 2008.

I know dato' Idrus Harun, since he was the ROC years ago. He has, and always maintains the very high integrity level. We had attended the same functions at various towns in Malaysia, including in Tawau - where once he was the magistrate for the Tawau division.
Good luck Dato' Idrus – and happy to know that you are entrusted (or predicted) to lead this case.
