Bung Moktar Denies Intention to Jump Ship for Sep 16 Takeover

Kinabatangan Member of Parliament Datuk Bung Moktar Radin today denied an allegation by Bayan Baru Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Zahrain Mohamed Hashim that he was one of eight MPs who were ready to hop party to make a success of the Opposition's plan to form a federal government on Sept 16, 2008.

Bung Moktar said he also had not met with any representative from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) or the Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on the matter and deemed the allegation as a 'big lie'.

"I have never met any PKR reps to hop as I am not a 'kaki lompat' (hopper), I am a 'kaki pukul' (hitter)... whoever does not speak right (in the House) we hit as we are 'anak jantan' (male-offspring), must be brave.

"I have never been involved whether by a direct meeting except I met the opposition leader on a flight, he was seated in the front with his wife, I was behind. He came to see me and asked how I was, I said good... when (do you) want to follow, follow what, he said we already have 30 persons, you have 30 go ahead and form the government, that's all," Bung Moktar said.

He made the revelation while debating the motion of thanks on the Yang di-Pertuan Agong's speech while opening the third term of the 12th Parliament in the Dewan Rakyat here.

The Barisan Nasional (BN) MP said it never crossed his mind to join the opposition to form the government and urged PKR members to awaken from their sleep and (be aware of) the ideas of the opposition.

"I ask my friends in the PKR not to be deceived. Get up from your sleep, get up from dreaming as no party which is established based on hate and revenge can govern a country, before the people punish you further, if you are lost come
back to the true path," he said.

Bung Moktar also congratulated Zahrain who is now an independent MP after leaving PKR on Feb 12 and said Zahrain did so because he got guidance from God to be on the platform of truth.

"As for the others I can't say, there has been no guidance, maybe they have not opened up their hearts to Allah, I sympathise with those who have not received any guidance," he said.

On March 18, besides Bung Moktar, Zahrain also revealed that Datuk Seri Abdul Ghapur Salleh (BN-Kalabakan), Datuk Seri Anifah Aman (BN-Kimanis), Datuk Chua Soon Bui (Independent-Tawau), Datuk Eric Majimbun (Independent-Sepanggar), Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi (BN-Batu Pahat), Datuk Seri Tengku Azlan Sultan Abu Bakar (BN-Jerantut), Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah (BN-Gua Musang), and a Dewan Rakyat Speaker were MPs who were said to be ready party-hop to fulfill the opposition's agenda to form a government on Sept 16, 2008.
