Hishammuddin : 'Not proper to take oil royalty dispute to court'
Umno vice-president Hishammuddin Hussein said today it is not proper to take the oil royalty issue to court as there are other avenues to solve the issue.
"To me, they are looking at this issue from the polemic point of view and this is not right," he said when asked to comment on the unanimous decision by the Kelantan state assembly yesterday to take the matter to court.
On BN representatives who supported the motion, Hishammuddin said they should have used party channels to address the issue.
"For us in BN and Umno, we have made it clear that existing channel should be used to discuss issues," he said.
Earlier, Hishammuddin, who is the home minister, launched an anti-crime campaign in Kota Damansara near Petaling Jaya.
He added that BN representatives who supported the motion could face action.
"But we will seek the views of the grassroots on how to deal with this," he said.
On the move by several PKR leaders to leave the party, Hishammuddin said Umno should not get too excited over the development.
"We should remain focus on what we have set to achieve for people and not be lulled into complacency.
"The promise to transform the party does not depend on what is taking place in the opposition parties," he said.
