IGP Urges MCA Delegates to Avoid Provocation

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Musa Hassan (pic) has urged MCA delegates to avoid provocation as it can lead to tension and quarrels.

He said all quarters involved in the party elections should follow the rules and procedures so that the elections on Sunday could proceed without untoward incidents.

"We want things to proceed smoothly and according to the democratic process. The elections have to be conducted fairly to avoid quarrels," he told reporters here today.

Musa said all quarters need to accept and respect the election results and refrain from acting outside the law.

Contest for the MCA president's post will see a three-cornered fight between incumbent Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat, former president Tan Sri Ong Ka Ting and former deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek.
