Najib aide: PM responding to Facebook queries

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Razak will respond to all constructive opinions submitted by the people in the country via the Facebook, said the Political Secretary to the Prime Minister, Datuk Shahlan Ismail.

“And any good opinion or suggestion can be used as a guide by the Prime Minister for the benefit of the country,” he told reporters after delivering a ‘1 Malaysia Briefing’ at the Kelantan state level, here today.

About 500 civil servants and community leaders attended the briefing organised by the Kelantan Federal Development Department.

Shahlan said the Prime Minister himself would look at the messages submitted by the people to him and if they were found to be helpful in developing the country, they would be used as a guide.

In his speech, he said between 100 and 200 messages were received each day with various suggestions and opinions and some of them were used as a guide by the Prime Minister.

“On certain days, up to 600 messages are received a day and these would be attended to by the Prime Minister personally,” he said.

Sahlan said each opinion submitted would be analysed by a certain group appointed to monitor the e-mails submitted by the public.

At the briefing, he reminded the civil servants to give priority to the community when discharging their duties as suggested by the Prime Minister when he first took over the country’s administration from Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. — Bernama
