NGO puts off delivering oil royalty memo to Agong

Majlis Pemuafakatan Rakyat (Mampat), a non-govermental organisation (NGO), has postponed handing over a memorandum to the Yang Dipertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin tomorrow as it has not received written permission from the palace.

Mampat chairman Mohd Fauzi Abu Samah said the handing over of the memorandum, which was planned together with Gerakan Bertindak Kembalikan Royalti (Gegar), has been postponed to a date to be announced later.

“As an NGO which adheres to laws and regulations we agree and will apply again for an audience. We apologise to the people for any inconvenience,” he told Bernama here today.

Initially, Mampat and Gegar had wanted to hand over the memorandum to Tuanku Mizan when he returned to Terengganu. — Bernama
