Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob today advised the people not
to believe rumours of an impending increase in the prices of fuel and essential
goods.

He said speculation on prices increases would give rise to a panic situation
among consumers and irresponsible wholesalers and retailers would take advantage
of the situation to reap excessive profits.
"I would like to tell the people that so long as there is no announcement by
the government, talk of price increases are mere speculation," he told reporters
after launching "A Day with Consumers in Puchong" at Taman Puchong Indah near
here.
Ismail Sabri said that in conjunction with World Consumer Rights Day
tomorrow, carrying the theme "Our Money, Our Right", he would advise the people
to shop wisely and not waste their money on unnecessary things.
