The Member of Parliament for Kuala Terengganu, Datuk Razali Ismail, 59, who is also the Deputy Minister of Education died after collapsing while playing badminton at Institut Aminuddin Baki in Genting Highlands today.Datuk Razali who won the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary seat on a Barisan Nasional (BN) ticket in the 8 March 2008 General Election after defeating PAS candidate Mohamad Sabu and 89-year old independent Maimun Yusuf with a slim majority of 628 votes.
A by-election must be held within 60 days to elect a new Member of Parliament.
