After all the UMNO Divisions had completed their meetings and having nominated their suitable candidates for the party post, UMNO should be heading for a election in March 2009 as scheduled.
But to the surprise of many, it seems at every level there was money politics involved and since this is a crime, the nominated candidates may even lose their rights to stand at the March 2009 UMNO elections.
The UMNO leadership had demanded their disciplinary committee to expedite their investigations and inform the leadership on the list of candidates involved in money politics. But how reliable and independent is this disciplinary body going to be. Will they be corrupted too? The most sensible thing for UMNOputras to do would be to appoint an independent and neutral group to investigate and prepare their findings.
It has been revealed that every candidate is involved in this money politics and it looks as though UMNO will have to take a stern action against all these candidates nominated.
Just disqualifying their candidacy alone would not be sufficient. These members should be expelled from the party and should be banned from participating in politics for at least 10 years. In this way, we can eradicate the 'bad-hats' once and for all.
Another area of interest would be using their 'ministerial position' to garner votes. Although this gives a edge to the Cabinet members, similarly like giving money, these candidates should also be disqualified.
If taking every matter above into consideration, it would seem that every eligible candidate would be disqualified from contesting and the most sensible thing for innocent UMNOputras to do would be to dissolve UMNO once and for all to get rid of this menace and those who are politically greedy in enriching themselves by these dubious calculative manner.
Will UMNOputras use their position to correct this situation or let these culprits continue with this menace?
