ZAID RESIGNED AS SENATOR

At the commencement of his speech at Lawasia 2008 Conference, Datuk Zaid Ibrahim, former Minister in the Prime Minister's Department and de facto Law Minister stated that he had resigned as a SENATOR two weeks ago.

Datuk Zaid stated that "I was asked to resign as Senator after I stepped down as Minister. So I thought it was only appropriate for me to quit as Senator as well". Datuk Zaid resigned as Minister on 15 September over the use of the Internal Security Act (ISA) to detain blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin, Seputeh MP Teresa Kok and Sin Chew Daily reporter Tan Hoon Cheng on 12 September.

It seems any person who is against the UMNO administration are forced to step down.

It seems clear that UMNOputras are not able to accept reality and with so much of 'cover-up' and money politics, and with the gobal economic crisis, only time will tell.
