While at a press conference, Fong claimed that she was suspended because she questioned Tan Sri Pandikar on why she was not allowed to speak to raise issues of setting up a royal commission to probe serious corruption allegations and whether the government would implement the use of indelible ink in elections.
In the case of Chong who came to Fong's defence when Tan Sri Pandikar slapped her with the suspension, was also barred from the rest of the proceedings without a warning or on reasonable grounds.
Meanwhile, yesterday, Tajuddin Abdul Rahman (BN-Pasir Salak) during a heated exchange with M Kulasegaran (DAP-Ipoh Barat) had called Kula a "bloody bastard", but no similar action was taken although the seriousness of the matter. The Deputy Speaker just accepted the retraction of his statement.
Look at the double standards practiced. UMNO/BN Members of Parliament are let-off so lightly while a similar occurrence by Opposition MPs, the Speakers punish them harshly.
