PBRS JOSEPH KURUP APPLIES FOR STAY OF EXECUTION


Tan Sri Joseph Kurup, Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Ministry today filed an application in the Court of Appeal in Puterajaya for a stay of execution of a Kota Kinabalu Election Court's decision to declare void his victory in Pensiangan in the March 8, 2008 general elections.

Kurup, who is President of Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS), said his lawyer had also filed an appeal against the Monday's Election Court judgement declaring his seat in Parliament vacant.

In Kota Kinabalu this afternoon, Kurup told the press that in the event that a by-election had to be held, PBRS Pensiangan is ready to take up the challenge to defend the seat.

When asked about his position as Deputy Minister, Kurup who is a lawyer turned politician requested that to refer the matter to the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi or Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Meanwhile, on Monday, Najib informed that Kurup was no longer Deputy Minister as a person have to be an MP to retain the post.

ya go appeal you loser kurup for playing dirty tactic during that nomination day. i hope your appeal will go rejected again.

if you are the people's men, no need appeal. go prove yourself that you can win against the opponent!! however, i think you have no balls for the real test.

don't worry, your persiangan area people is very unlike P44. i have confidence in your win provided you must play dirty by giving out money to the voters in exchange for their I/C or give sweet promises and a Rm50 hamper to each family . other than that, i bet you will lose.
