PM DATUK SERI ABDULLAH AMMAD BADAWI DEMANDED TO QUIT IMMEDIATELY

The Umno supreme council which met yesterday saw several of its senior UMNOputras demanding party president and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to step down before October 9.

Malaysiakini reported that according to well-placed sources, they wanted Datuk Seri Abdullah to hand over the reign to his deputy Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak before the date as they want to ‘save Datuk Seri Abdullah from the embarrassment' of not getting enough nominations to contest for the President's post. Among the leaders chorus for Datuk Seri Abdullah to quit now was said to be vice-president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Wanita chief Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz.

Will PM and UMNO President Datuk Seri Abdullah quit now?

If he does step down by Oct 9, the opposition's request for a vote of no-confidence (or is it the PM's request for a vote of confidence?) will be moot.
